Something of an irony I feel. The one customer service standard Lendy were meeting was providing regular weekly updates as promised. So naturally thats the thing they stop.

I'm looking forward to Lendy following "best practice" in everything else they do, not just communications.

It really would not have been rocket science to add a simple preferences option so we could opt in or out of a fortnightly update. Likewise an option to have updates about all loans or just the ones we are invested in.
The only conclusion, therefore, is that Lendy did not want to keep telling us all the bad news and is using some lenders not wanting it as an excuse to drop it rather than to do the obvious thing of allowing preferences.

"Please be assured our focus is on improving disclosure and transparency, and not on limiting key information to users. We want everyone to have the right information available to them to help them make an informed investment decision." Why no mention on the weekly post of the problem with the large loan where dealings in the secondary market continue to be suspended? If nothing else a comment to the effect that in spite of Lendy's best efforts matters were no further forward would have been appropriate. Investors are in limbo with nothing to show for their concern other than that the interest owed continues to be repaid from a part of their investment which was originally retained by Lendy. One of the reasons for the weekly update is to reduce the number of enquiries coming into Lendy so not issuing any reassurance is worse than useless.

"Keyboard Stutter" brightspark? Having read all that several times I think a quick wipe with the old Triple Velvet wouldn't be amiss. brightspark You can click the cog thingy on the right to manage deletion of surplus postings.

The intended changes to the Weekly Update are aimed at improving the service users receive from Lendy, by reducing the amount of information included in an email, by providing links in that email to the relevant content on the Lendy platform. This is common to most investment platforms. As others have said, this change will actually make it much less likely I will invest my funds with Lendy in future. I have frequently used the information/updates in the Weekly Update to invest in loans that I didn't previously hold. If I don't get information on active loans that I don't currently hold in future, I simply won't consider investing in any of them.

The weekly update at least adds to the rigour of a regular update stream. As is no loan has been updated in the past 11 days
An additional "extra" is duplicating the same update as last time, eg for DFL006 the updae on 28th Sep is copied word for word on 12th Oct

If I don't get information on active loans that I don't currently hold in future, I simply won't consider investing in any of them. Note that all loan updates are available on the Recent Updates page. Personally I don't find that format particularly readable, so have emailed Lendy Support (support@lendy.co.uk) to cease plans to drop the summary loan update email in the short term and consider an opt in / opt out route instead. If sufficient make the request then Lendy should honour their commitment to: " continue to improve these services based on your feedback" Hmm, didn't get much support when I suggested the same here - p2pindependentforum.com/post/223944/thread

My Loans has a lot of loans I either don't hold or no longer hold. I can't quite work out which way it is, but I think it's all loans I've ever held parts in.

I just logged in and noticed the new updates button. They seem to be testing it though because the 'My loans' tab includes loans I've long ago sold out of. It could be intentional but I think it would be cleaner having loans I'm currently invested in only.
I'm a bit surprised they don't have a non-live version of the website for testing.

I just tried out the new 'bell' button. I'm in four loans (token amounts only) so I was surprised at the enormous list of updates when I selected 'my loans'. It turns out that 'my loans' includes all loans I have ever been in... even those I've been out of for over a year. I had rather expected the list to include my current loans only! Not that I'm particularly worried about it... it just seems a little strange. EDIT: Crossed with copacetic and garfield who've noticed the exact same strangeness!

I just tried out the new 'bell' button. What happened? No man is an island, Entire of itself. Each is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thine own Or of thine friend's were. Each man's death diminishes me, For I am involved in mankind. Therefore, send not to know For whom the bell tolls, It tolls for thee. Sorry, I couldn't resist!
