Well, I'm reading this thread and wondering what all the fuss is about. It seems that AC provided a prompt and very polite response by email and simply reminded the questionner about AC's rules for Q&As. No harm done. Clarification has been provided.
I don't contribute on this forum very often, partly because reading the comments from some members is exasperating, and reasonable good manners are too often not evident.
AC is one of the better P2P platforms, especially when it comes to keeping us informed, even if an occasional error creeps in.
Keep up the good work, chris and andrewholgate. You're doing fine as far as I am concerned.

I agree that AC is one of the better platforms and their plus points far outweigh the sometimes mildly annoying answers/deletions in the Q&A section.

I can see both sides of this debate, and I agree with both sides frustrations.
A straight question will not be deleted, that keeps it simple if abided by.
But likewise if a question breaches this (that grey area), then rather than AC delete the parts that breach the Q&A instead AC should delete the question completely. But then post the question in an acceptable AC format using an AC Staff ID as a question that has been asked.
I further think that if AC receive a relevant question via telephone, chat or e-mail that they should also post the Q&A themselves via a Staff User ID.
This i feel would satisfy all parties, and improve further AC's standing with the lender community in that they are adding additional relevant Q&As so all lenders can view them.

Did you ask the question again with no extraneous text? No, MrG, because by the time AC informed me of the answer, and their expungement of the question, the credit report had been corrected, making the question redundant. And furthermore, if the question had been asked again, I don't expect the response would've been "Thanks for bringing that to our attention. It's four months. We've fixed the CR." The more likely response would have been "We can't see a problem."
