Try cycling the power (both on the PC, and the router) just in case? Both the OS and the router are between you and the website. OK I'll do a big switch off in a minute. I've cleared all history to the beginning of time on Chrome, and it still will not connect me to assetzcapital via google. edit: Well I've turned it all off for a few minutes, reconnected the router - and still this computer refuses to let me onto AC on Firefox or Chrome. Next move - uninstall Firefox (then Chrome) then reinstall them?

Well, I've run Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, done a Glary Utilities clean and a CCleaner clean and still cannot access Assetz Capital website on this computer. Oh well - two hours of my life disrupted already, so it looks like a reinstall of both browsers, unless anyone has a brighter idea.

oldgrumpy Create a new account on the computer, log on with that account, see if the new account has the same issue.

In the meantime, I found IE was still on the computer so I tried to get on AC via IE, searched by Bing, not Google - NO!!! Secured connection failed blah blah! Three different browsers? edit - that didn't work!

If the problems are on multiple browsers it could be a DNS issue (The service which resolves web addresses).
You can clear DNS by pasting ' ipconfig /flushdns ' in the run box - Windows key & <R> - Press <OK> to run

I'll keep that in mind, though it's getting mighty close to my "don't touch anything, dummie" status with computers ) Did it. No joy. This is silly. OK now to try system restore to before the last firefox update.

(On another computer) That didn't work. System restore decided not to succeed!!! Some "error" or other possibly blaming anti-virus. So I turned that off and it still wouldn't succeed. I've also started having repeated freezes* on Windows 7 so something else may be ongoing with that old ex-Vista laptop. I'm checking the disc on safe mode at present. Most of what is on it is backed up; perhaps I will end up reinstalling Windows 7 .... or even sneaking Windows 10 on free while I can. I haven't reinstalled Firefox because I can't see why all three browsers should be affected in the same way. Just AC's site. All others are fine. Anyway I'm bored now. 'spect you are too. Thanks for all the suggestions. * that's been on the increase this last month or so. Admin Should this thread be shifted off the Assetz board? It's obviously not caused by them. edit 18:57 (on the faulty computer) I reinstalled Firefox. Nothing. I can get on all websites but not AC. My other computer has no such problem. I'm flummoxed. edit: 19:25 Took this screen shot. I made the window on the right narrow to firt the space. It thinks I have never visited Assetz ever before!!!

Just noticed that in the url box for all other platforms with https:// I get a little green padlock, meaning verified by Bitdefender.
Trying to get AC, I don't. So is Bitdefender failing to recognise it from today? The plot thckens!!
BINGO!! I just turned Bitdefender Free AV off and connected immediately with Assetz Capital!! So Bitdefender is blocking it.
Ok, I've turned Bitdefender AV back on now, I don't think I can progamme permissions on the free edition so it looks like I'll go back to Avast! I've sent BD a "false positive" message.

Hi! Nope. That didn't work. Perhaps BD will sort it soon. In the meantime I'll use the other machine.

Your AV seller is in league with LY to bar access to other P2P sites to force all investments into LY.
This is only the begining.
There Can Be Only One.

Maybe AC can ask Bitdefender why it doesn't recognise AC's secure site certificate. chris edit ... or maybe I should pay for my AV (tight old git) so I can whitelist AC.

Just wandered over to look at applying some stellar powder to this request, however, as it seems to be a Bitdefender fault that only applies to Assetz think I'll leave it here, although you may want to change the thread title oldgrumpy. Glad you've found the fault and hope your 'other computer' has survived the extensive 'mucking about' it's endured .
