Today's used cars seemed to be fitted with turbos and the best launch control on the planet. I know there was limited availability but I can't see how they all disappeared so quick. I was on exactly when it started but only got one. Are there bots around?

you mean the renewals of an existing loan with a high proportion of rolled over reinvestment?
There was about 3% available wasn't there?

Totally realise there were limited amounts but with a £25 limit all loans disappeared in about a minute. With 20 individual loans that was pretty fast.

That is very normal, I don't think it is Bot driven there just are a whole load of people out there who like MT loans that keep giving, you log on a couple of minutes out while your coffee cools and pick them up.

All I got was one £25 bid that turned into £8. Must have been the last of that tranche.

I've known it be much quicker. With barely £100 available per loan, you're only talking 4 bids @ £25. The fact I even got one was a pleasant surprise.

Bobo we all have our opinions and as you are a member of DD we should listen to your words in awe. However, here are the facts... I looked at the first 15 loans, after that the recent tranactions did not show everybody who got a bid as there was more money in the later loans. There were several investors who were 'very lucky' but one stands out. In the space of 11 seconds they managed to get 8 bids in including getting two bids in on loan 13. That is simply not possible. Like you I really like MT but I think their rules have been abused. I'm slightly worried that if I can see this with my limited resources MT didn't spot something. Oh and yes I had logged on a few minutes before 12.

When I look I see the following,
The longest term loans filled first, logically. They had 1) the longest term and 2 they had a little more available, so these are the ones most in demand
The shortest loans had very limited availability, 3-4 chunks and would be lowest on most peoples priority
The one month loan for example took 15 seconds before anyone bought anything, so that would be bizarre coding for a bot, but not impossible someone may have tried to delay a little, even so seems quite unlikely to go to the bother of coding a bot for this buy then delaying purchasing.
Buying a few pieces quickly isn't hard. I think I managed 8 previously in under 20 seconds (Wine from memory).
The other problem is we assume ZxxxZ is the same investor, we have no idea as it could be Z12345Z and Z123456Z and Z1234567Z all buying

Oh and yes I had logged on a few minutes before 12. Old MT hands know the FFF techniques that can bag multiple loan parts quickly. I've often managed to place 10+ bids in 30 seconds, although I didn't bother with these as I'd enough rolling over. A few tips for free: a) A minute or two before launch, open a separate browser tab for each of, say, the 6-8 loans you think have the best chance of success. These will typically be the ones with most £ available and/or those near the bottom of the list (most people start at the top and work down!). b) Keep refreshing your 1st tab until the blue "Invest Now" button appears, click it, key in your bid and hit Enter (faster than clicking again) c) Then quickly run along your other tabs, right-clicking each and "Reload"-ing d) Return to your 2nd tab, which hopefully by now will have finished reloading, click the blue button, key in your bid and hit Enter e) Work your way along the rest of your tabs and do the same on each Only once you've finished making all your bids, look to see how many were successful. You may be surprised!

Firefox now has a nice right-click option to Reload All Tabs.

They had 1) the longest term and 2 they had a little more available, so these are the ones most in demand Definately a luck element, with 20 loans who went for what in what order, you may have got 0 you may have got around 10 if you tried Such as: 19 | m***n | £19.00 | 12:00:13 | 18 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:22 | 17 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:27 | 16 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:28 | 15 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:30 | 14 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:32 | 13 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:35 | 13 | m***n | £13.00 | 12:00:36 | 12 | m***n | £14.00 | 12:00:37 | 11 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:38 | 10 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:39 | 9 | m***n | £25.00 | 12:00:41 |
But as pointed out, there's no guaranteeing m***n is the same individual from what we can see, although MoneyThing would know if they were to look. Thats quite interesting, as it helps confirm some things. That person clearly went backwards up the list, also on a couple looks like they picked up the remains (12&13) so only just got in on the action there The timings are pretty short yes, but i could match that i think although to do this your basically relying on some very good hand eye coordination and for sure knowing a few more tricks including the ones SteveT mentioned. Why the bigger pauses at the start and virtually none at the end, i suspect they were completing part of each tab, maybe for even more loans then from around 12:00:25 performing the final actions, the remains of 19, their first "win" shows to me they were going for an as many as possible strategy rather than a securing some as quick as possible strategy! Was a high risk strategy but appears to have worked this time. Actually just noticed the double 13 thing. Thats definately worth asking MT to confirm, as £25 was the max bid, and that table shows £38 so its very possible there are 2 people there looking like 1, or somehow the MT system allowed someone 2 bits totaling more than the allowance!

Another tip for reloading a page: press F5.
It may be quicker than using a right click and menu.
