I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this. I mean on the one hand, the updates are so ridiculous as to solicit laughter. However, I still have quite a bit of funds locked up in FS and, perhaps foolishly, continue to invest in the odd loan. Not this one though !

I'm always very relieved when a loan I hold in which the borrower has been stringing FS along for weeks, eventually goes up for renewal. I used to hold this one, but made my exit during a previous renewal. I'm glad others will have another opportunity to do so if they wish.

All being well, it will be fairly easy to sell on SM.

I did a quick fag packet calculation (oddly similar to some VR's) that the borrower has spent around 12 to 13% of the gems value in interest charges to date

well this went better than I feared - 13% interest paid into my account today - all in all a pretty good investment although I shan't be renewing. Shame Whitehaven etc won't probably yield the same return...

Interesting to note that, in spite of getting .30% discount on the SM last August (day 128 of the previous loan), my return has only achieved 12.91% !
And, if I had actually bought at par my return would only have been 12.88% !!
So, not only have we lost the benefit of compound interest (on what we SHOULD have received last October), but the anomaly of 6 months 'late payment' has actually decreased the rate of simple interest !!
Wonder if anyone else has played with their calculations ?

checked mine - seems to be correct. I guess if you buy on the SM the maths get a bit complicated.

The renewal in April 2017 was 2 months late, followed by a renewal in April 2018 that was 6 months late.
The current incarnation of the loan was due to mature on 2nd Oct 2018, so is now more than 2 months overdue, and yet there is no update on the loan.

Nov 16th the Apologies Dept advised me they had no additional(sic) information on this loan, but that she would 'bring this up when the loan supervisor is available', while my complaint had already been passed on !!
So... Is the loan supervisor STILL unavailable - maybe locked up somewhere ? Is the loan supervisor completely deaf to the requests of the Apologies Dept - hum, I mean the 'Investor Relations Dept' ! Is the loan supervisor simply incompetent ? Or too busy getting the Co. logo onto London taxis !? Is the loan supervisor one of the FS Directors ? Probably, but whoever knows certainly won't be saying, will they ??
VERY frustrating all round !

Has the item been sold at a loss already? If not, then the result is still exactly as should be expected for a pawn item. The disaster you're talking about may well come later though. I've got a couple of hundred in it so let's see what happens...
