Some answers to a question have been deleted from a thread in this Q&A. Its a shame, as investors really should have seen the reply from the borrower. The borrower did demand the deletion of the question, but the rest of what they wrote made that inevitable.

Well, the question asked whether the borrower had considered alternative banking arrangements. The borrower replied with very partizan opinions about an issue which is in the news this week, the broker replied that ethical considerations had no place in the q&a and the other reply approved of the question and expressed the hope that it would not be deleted.

The Israeli bank question?
Even the sponsor had 2 posts deleted. Would be interesting to know what was said that caused offense.

To avoid confusion, I should mention that the first reply is tagged 'lender', but said 'we' when referring to the company banking arrangements, so I assume from that and their username that they were the borrower.

The original post asserted that the company was strongly connected with an Israeli bank (this is fact) which was connected with funding activities in the occupied territories (I don't know if this is true, nobody said it wasn't) and asked if "in the light of current events" would they consider finding different partners. Something on those lines anyway. Not surprisingly it got pretty heated pretty quickly.
My attitude is that there are some things I don't want to fund, normally but not always they are self evident, and when it's not apparent then I do want to know. In this instance others felt that there was nothing dubious in the arrangement or it's not relevant to an investment decision.
I raised a thread about this on TC headed Ethical Investing to see what others felt about how such matters should be handled. I'm pretty sure that the TC q&a is not the place to debate Arab Israeli relations, capital punishment, drugs legalisation, gambling etc. But I think it is ok to say do you know they make half their money from GM foods for example.
On another completely different forum, just by the Create Post button it reads I promise to be nice. Just saying.
