Seriously... in the current circumstances... The site is perfectly fine. A new low in my opinion. Congrats The site was definitely not working for me for about 20 minutes...and did indeed have a sinking ship graphic.

ablrate Me too. There was also a bug last night, A huge bell graphic dominating the page for the new loan, and no way to invest... Logging out or going to the home page and logging-in again solved both problems. Please take a look and try to rectify these (admittedly) minor problems instead of dissing your investors...

I missed all that. Works for me. They say that platforms can be sensitive to the moods and emotions of their users and owners. Let's keep calm and try not to upset the platform.

I reconfirm, the ABL site was definitely not available and there was definitely a sinking ship logo displayed - and it definitely was not "fine". Just checked and site working now. (Up to date Chrome on a PC)

(Up to date Chrome on a PC) I got the sinking ship too. Ablrate must have realised that the site was down for a while, and that in the present climate this was slightly alarming to investors - also that a sinking ship isn't the kind of dark humour that everyone appreciates. It would be nice to have a brief explanation of what happened. Still, everything is up and running now, so all's well that ends well.

[OT], but if it makes ablrate feel better, Hargraves Lansdown site appears to be down at the moment, and not even a scary graphic to show for it (so my 'keep your own books' obviously applies to more than P2P).

I may have overreacted...my apologies.
I appreciated it was a reaction and tongue-in-cheek from the commentors, however I have received several emails and calls from very worried people who have a lot of money with the p2p platform concerned. It would have been OK under normal circumstances and would have been met with a mea culpa but at the time I just thought that it was in poor taste to make a comment like that when some people are coming here to try and get information and we have "ABL is down" "hope its not like C******"... One would have hoped that this would have been recognized as sensitive and someone would have called the office or emailed first.
However... I could have made a comment like that which explained things better....
Anyway... the downtime was the fix to the concurrent execution issue... most visible with the slight over funding of the latest loan. Two bids were made 250 milliseconds apart and were both execute... we made the update, which should have had no affect at all on the site (hence no notice), but the update cause a short outage. This change of codes protects against double trade execution and bids.

Appreciate ablrate taking the time to interact with the forum. For me, good transparent comms is a huge "plus" for any platform. It must be frustrating because there are undoubtedly times when you feel that you simply can't win, whatever you say.

Me, I'm staying calm and sticking with all my investments. Keep up the great work, ablrate, and I hope everyone has a quiet (and warm!) weekend. I'm looking forward to wine o'clock, cheers!

Everyone becomes hyper-sensitive and words must be chosen with great care, for fear of being misinterpreted.

Got a car that’s been hit & falling apart this time (same style of graphic ie blue cartoony but couldn't manage an ipad screenshot and stardust would have my guts for garters as I don’t know the acceptable attachment rules).
Whilst a car might be slightly better metaphorically, if a picture is necessary could it be something a bit more uplifting given the current circumstances.
It is an 'Unexpected Error' message asking to contact the administrator if the problem continues.
Edit - have taken a photo instead this time.
Edit 2 - just went to try on Android which was still showing the sinking ship from my last use, that I did take a screenshot of.
For the avoidance of any doubt - this is related to temporary errors accessing the abl account and these are abl labelled pictures being used. This is just what I am seeing and have now recorded. If there are any accusations or sarcastic congratualtion of new lows then I'm afraid these are all abl's own actions that they must take ownership of and responsibility for.

I got the same car image earlier with Firefox. But got in fine when I tried Chrome at the same time. I've just tried both again now, and they both work just fine for me.
