Fair point. I tend to go for the higher risk, higher reward end of the property market so I haven't looked at any of those loans. I do know that both AC and BC have very good reputations for dealing with defaults. I snipped the links, by the way, because the first appeared to identify the borrower. yes, well spotted, my error! The point about tried and trusted platforms, good default handling (AC/BC) is also well made and probably allows a lower interest rate that will still attract business. UB do seem pretty good with bling recovery mind you, but that may well not translate across to property. There's a huge difference between sending a few bits of unredeemed bling to auction and evicting a difficult borrower from their own home before trying to sell it. Even AC and BC have hit some challenges with this over the years, and they've been doing it a long time. If this loan was on BC, I'd probably take a bite. But, as a first foray into property lending by an inexperienced platform, no thanks.

We are all expressing our opinions here, but do we know if Unbolted ever read this blog? If not how do we get our view across to them?

Oh I haven't, and like others I put £0.00 in the box , but I would like to get my (and every one else) more general thoughts across to them.

They have a rep on here but not clear if still active (could be hidden), no posts for two years. You could try tagging ashwinp and seee what happens

First method has problems where user name & display name are different.

I emailed Unbolted with my thoughts directly on Friday and told them to read the independent forum.

ashwinp hasn't been on line since Sept 2016, so don't hold your breath. Email or phone might work better.

In staff have seen the traffic on here. I emailed my questions on this loan and other matters and got answers late night.
This is probably your best way in to Ashwin or Rito. For general company line stuff the chat is, as has already been said, good during business hours for most things.
I, also, cannot get comfortable for the whole package of different loans so I will not be investing in this one.

Already too much secured on property. I'm quite disappointed UB yet another platform going down this route. Not for me.

"P2P pawnbroker Unbolted confirms it is not expanding into property loans": see www.p2pfinancenews.co.uk/2018/03/16/p2p-pawnbroker-unbolted-property/"Co-founder Rito Haldar told Peer2Peer Finance News that while this was the first time a property was being taken as security, the platform would not be expanding into property lending". “The loan that is being contemplated is a business loan, but secured on property with a low loan-to-value (LTV),” Haldar said. “This is different to our usual loans in that we are taking security on a property and not on movable chattels. “But aside from that we certainly have no plans to enter into vanilla property loans that are prevalent across other platforms, such as development loans or buy-to-let loans or bridging loans.”
