Just received an email from Uown which contained good news... No such mail for me - I'm not itching to sell out my modest shares but I'd be annoyed if I'd missed my chance to get early in the sale queue because I missed the opening of the resale market.

I think the whole Uown project is looking, and running, great - except for Stanmore Street, which is now a real drag on confidence in Uown. Well it is for me anyway. I invested here, yes there are returns, but there is still no realistic prospect of this completing any time this year, if ever...

I think the whole Uown project is looking, and running, great - except for Stanmore Street, which is now a real drag on confidence in Uown. Well it is for me anyway. I invested here, yes there are returns, but there is still no realistic prospect of this completing any time this year, if ever... Now that there is only one "new" property left (excluding the easy exit one or whatever its called) I would imagine that lenders who already hold a stake in the two completed ones will direct new cash (and reinvested returns) to Stanmore Street rather than buying more of Eden or Beechwood as there is greater potential for some quick capital gain on that one having not been revalued since its launch. I expect it to pick up speed a bit now. I'm having to refrain from adding much in the way of new investment, on any platform, for the time being, but I am putting all my rental income back into Stanmore. Personally I don't mind if takes until next year to fill. I don't need the liquidity for the modest amount I have in it and its generating a yield regardless. ... and yes I agree. I'm perfectly happy with UOWN. Its only a small platform at present and that's not likely to change any time soon I wouldn't have thought, but it fills its small niche in my portfolio very well.

Received an email tonight offering guaranteed rental yield on Stanmore of 9% for 2 years!
That should help it get closer to completion - I'll probably put my uninvested income back into it now..

I'm in as it seems like a good deal to me, but wasn't exactly crushed in the stampede! I refer readers to the thread title.

I think it is a great move by uown to get Stanmore Street over the line. I have increased my investment.

I agree with a previous commenter the platform layout is a bit trashy and could do with refining. That said i don't think i have a specific Student Rental platform in my portfolio and this looks interesting. Hummm it's a potential....

I quite like this platform as it fills a diversification niche for me, but it seems to be having difficulty getting traction. Stanmore looks good with its 9% rental yield guarantee for a couple of years, but it's still taking soooo long to fill. The description is now a year out of date. It talks about being tenanted for the upcoming 2017/18 academic year. Could do with an update.

New website, 3rd opportunity now funded, min dropped to £1 so easier to invest dividends, hints of branching out into other areas (unsure on that one), revalutions of existing properties.
