Looks like 5yr @ 6% is a comfortable level for now. Pretty steady all month with only very minor blips. Two months on looks like this stills holds. Well perhaps it's now 6.05%.

Cockup alert? I have touched nothing for a couple of weeks and all my repayments have been put up at 6.1% (My rate!! ) and matched within 24 hours. Today I find that my repayment has been placed in my holding account, not in the queue at 6.1% as instructed. Looking at the full market, it seems no bulk repayment orders have been set this morning, so I have placed mine manually at 6.0% because that appears to be today's best bet, 6.1% having £576K already in it. While I have been writing this anothr £50K or so has gone in 6% manually, but the 1000+ market rate orders for this morning still do not seem to have been set. Edit 10:55 Just found another £96 in my holding account - should have gone straight on offer at 6.1% (haven't altered that yet) so I have manually offered it at 6.0%. Still no apparent sign of what should be 6.0% bulk influx of cash for this morning, though 140 people have now put in nearly £200K.

I think the repayment run is still ongoing. The money stays in your holding account until all is repaid then placed at YR as a lump sum. As it seems to be running late then lots of people are placing bids manually.

Ah, could be. But if it's finished now, they whacked in today's orders at 6.1% although there is already £200K on offer at 6% - how strange the "market rate" gods can be! Some of them are now in a £1.2M queue

So RateSetter has a "Market Rate God", and Zopa has a "Great Lord Algorithm". I'm not religious, but I guess a God trumps a Lord? ?

As all gods (small g) are manifestations of the human desire to impart meaning to a universe perceived as random and chaotic, this implies that the mechanisms underlying the Market Rate allocation are, for us lenders, essentially random and chaotic. We think we perceive a pattern, until suddenly we don't, and we realize that there are multiple Market Rates, and many different zones of possible placement within the Holy Queue of the Great Rate Setter. Verily, the god of the Market Rate moves in mysterious and wondrous ways.
