Calm down Dear/s, it's only an email address. Not your Bank Account info or your Mistress'/ToyBoy's name & address. Email addresses will always be traded clandestinely whether you like it or not and you're never the wiser. Any sort of "Data Protection" BS by Government won't stop it either. Given mine was addressed to be by name it's more than an email address. And for all we know (until someone gets a straight reply from them) they could easily also have our home adresses, bank details and any other info we provided to COL - sure they should never have been given that level of info, but then again they should never have been given what they have either

Such a cunning plan!

Cupid Stunt was a starlet, and a friend of Sid Snot. I was thinking this was more Blackadder, or Baldrick.

Cupid Stunt was a starlet, and a friend of Sid Snot. I was thinking this was more Blackadder, or Baldrick. You are of course quite correct blender - but it did suddenly spring to my mind for some obtuse reason? When I look back to all those amazing and so cleverly and originally scripted comedy shows that used to get pumped out with incessant regularity, and then consider the absolute dross that is 'presented' to us to today - I feel very lucky that I had my heyday when I did. I just had a serious chuckle at simply the thought of one of my all time favourites - when the (Late again sadly) Rick Mayall played the role of Squadron Leader The Lord Flasheart in one of the most enduringly hilarious editions of Blackadder ever ('The Blackadder goes forth series' - I think?).
I no longer have a TV License (and not due to advancing age - I'm still a sprightly sixty ish) - I could just no longer tolerate watching the utter drivel and pathetic trash which constitutes 'TV' entertainment these days. And you wouldn't believe the hassle I had doing so - it seems there are employed thirteen years olds (or that was the intellectual age of the individual who called me I opined) whom I 'had to convince' that I would no longer be watching live TV - seems it's a near inconceivable concept to some (those who have never read a book, been for a walk in the countryside or had an intellectually stimulating conversation I suspect?).
Yes - all I need is now immediately available on-line and/or you-tube or similar. Netflix, Amazon - oh, please (how about a movie called 'the one eyed zombie meets cupid stunt - AKA: some clueless bint with large breasts from Cranleigh (No - it's a very nice place - it just rhymes nicely - so don't go there!!). But no, thank you - I still have a functioning brain - maybe in a decade or two - but much later me thinks (hopefully). The only time my 'big' TV gets used is when my grandson insists on watching a DVD on a larger screen than my 15" laptop - if it weren't for that I would literally throw it in a skip!
So - end of Saturday morning tirade - it's sunny outside and my garden beckons.
FAO BDO: Oh yes, nearly forgot - can I have my money back please?

Pragmatic view: Perhaps we could be more tolerant given that they are potentially taking us out of a few loans?

Here is the initial response I got from my data access request
Thank you for your email. We have instigated an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter and will have a full response to you by no later than Friday 27th July.
We would also like to assure you that we take data issues very seriously.
What we can tell you at this stage though is the naming of the mail-out was in relation to the fact that it was to tie in with the marketing of the 1st 'Collateral' loan, we refinanced - not a reflection on the origin of the database.
If you have any further concerns in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me.

I didn't even mention Collateral, but they sent me exactly the same boiler-plate reply.

Mine wasn't a unique address so I can't really comment on the collateral link. However they definitely got my details from SOMEWHERE without my permission, so frankly its pretty disengenuous if all they're going to say is we didn't get it from COL. Well it'll be interesting to see what they report back after the full investigation. But I definitely won't be investing with them, ever.

I also got the same email by surprise 2 weeks ago, and they got my name on it too. I never register nor invest in Huddle Capital.

Thank you for your email. We have instigated an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter and will have a full response to you by no later than Friday 27th July. Just out of interest did anyone promised the full response by Friday 27th July actually get it, or were they empty words, as was the case for the full response promised to others by Friday 13th July? I've heard nothing since.
