<snip> I believe the time has come for a 'dislike' option. Déjà vu - it's been suggested before - p2pindependentforum.com/post/16802/thread. However, it's not something that is possible on Pro-Boards without a plug-in (which we don't as a rule use), and it wasn't terribly popular. IIrc someone said they had been on a Forum which did have such a system and chaos reigned as people used them to try and trash reputations etc. You don't have to look too hard to see the like system being manipulated here, and personally I wouldn't mind getting rid of it altogether. Forum members were in favour of it at the time though. The technical excuse, is just that. One of the moderators can write bots to buy and sell loans. The linked thread is from 2014, and the forum has changed a lot since then. The forum currently lacks a tool to deal with destructive posters. If you dislike 'dislike', maybe you have a better idea?

This forum would be better without a like or dislike button

That would be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire!

We Usually come to a happy compromise especially when some of our female members drop a bit of reality into the spats with male posturing ( I humbly admit to the occasional tantrum) I think discontent with some of the platforms is manifesting itself by transferring the anger to fellow members because the platform managers just don’t listen. Administrators of this forum of course are listening intently and offer words of wisdom and stop us beating the SH** out of each other on here. So let us all have a nice chilled evening full of useful Adult conversation ( of the grown up type )

The real problem is that lenders are not listened by FS at all. So, what's the point in discussing how the FS platform could be changed or improved, if FS has always been deaf to any suggestion and changed absolutely ZERO in their own strategy? From the start, FS only aimed at growing the turnover, taking anyone as borrower with or without solid guarantees and securities. If lenders loose in the meantime it is a collateral effect which they don't care about. As with FC, they will find alternative funding sources (institutionals not asking too many questions, a fund offering investors 1pc above the base rate or something similar) rather than change the engine. So there is no point in thinking an efficient model for FS. FS will never implement it! Lets make FS a PLC with lenders making up 51% of the board . Should make for interesting AGM

It is currently not much different at all as attitude towards lenders. I don't think FC will listen small investors anyway... I did see that any chance of me getting the £5K i still have in their "A" rated London loans ?

There is arguably a use for some way of agreeing with a post without a string of follow up posts saying I agree, equally some way of saying you found a post helpful, funny etc is not a bad thing, currently the like option covers all of these. Yet without a counterbalance of saying the opposite is potentially a bad thing. Regarding it currently being weaponised (I agree a bit of a dramatic name) I think to an extent it has been, so maybe it is time for a rethink on what options could be tried.

Perhaps a 10-15min wait between posts too a thread to allow everyone a cooling off period so if people disagree they have tme to reflect before contributing.
