Going to have to start diarising these, given the current lack of other investments Diarising won't help a lot if we aren't told exactly when the new/renewal loans will become available for investing inasmuch as the boaty loans are funded completely in a matter of minutes. These renewals raise a question for savingstream... The comments on the initial loans said "Vessel to be listed for sale imminently." The comments on the renewal loans say... exactly the same thing. Is this just a failure by SS to update the comments? Or were these boats not put up for sale as originally intended? If they have been for sale for some months -- at what prices? -- does this tell us something about the market for these boats -- and the ability to sell them if the borrower does not repay the loan on time? I suppose that with an LTV of 50% there's scope for a significant discount to be offered for a quick sale, but if the market is thin, even that might not produce a buyer in a timely manner.

That's 2 I've missed on in succession This is one of those situations where 'you can't please all of the people all of the time'. From my point of view, the limit on renewing loans was hugely annoying. As one of the people who took the risk to put in reasonable sums in the early days when others chose to wait and see how things panned out, it was immensely galling to find that I could only recycle small portions of that money into a renewal when it came up due to the limits. As such, I think having a limit on new loans but not on renewing ones is a reasonably equitable way forward - it gives at least some chance to the original lenders to recycle whilst any more recent lenders will get the chance when (if )any new loans appear. Despite finding it annoying when it happened, I never actually complained, but I'll bet a number of the other early investors did. And any new lenders who happen to log in and see the renewals, even in the first 24 hours during which they aren't advertised by SS, still have the opportunity to grab a slice then and knock out some of the original investors who haven't been able to log in quickly enough.

That's 2 I've missed on in succession Doesnt seem to be any restriction on bids on refinances. 25% (5k) of one of these went to one investor! Maybe they took the limits off due to the size of the PBL's though in practice they rarely last 24hrs either. They dont send out new loan SMS/emails for 24hrs on the renewals, just repayment advice, but as they always roll now, existing investors seem to just take the opportunity to increase their stakes. . Until there is a much, much bigger (boaty) loan book its going to be feeding frenzies all the way, particularly as SS seem to be advertising widely which just brings more sharks into a small pond!!!

Edit £6.99 up for grabs if your quick Have SS dropped the £100 minimum investment (except when buying the whole of the last bit)? The £6.99 available has dropped to £5.57 as it looks like someone has bought a part worth £1.42.

One of those renewing today in theory wasnt due until tomorrow. And, IIRC, the ones renewed last week were past their maturity dates. Come to think of it, even today's loans were past their maturity dates since SS set the Remaining Term for boaty loans based on maturity plus one month.

Well, here's another question for SS never mind the unchanging description text and valuations, on the Default updates thread savingstream said "The next 4 boats due to come to the end of their terms are 4 x narrowboats from the same narrowboat dealer. We are currently awaiting full repayment of 2 of these and have an agreement in place that if he repays 2 in full then we would allow the renewal of the other 2 providing all outstanding interest is paid." Unless I have the wrong boats it seems to me that all four have been renewed. Can savingstream provide an explanation please. We already have an effective double fund of the 1926 Ketch until the PBL 10 draws down, and in general there seems a bit too much recycling of existing loans and a lack of 'new blood' for my liking.

So it looks like when the amount available is less than £100 no minimum limit applies. I previously had thought that the minimum investment was the lesser of £100 or the amount available.

Got repayment for narrowboat, but I will have to learn to check my emails more often (instead of making silly elephant jokes on other board!)
