Thank you ozboy & wiseclerk. I will do more research. I wonder if Transferwise will be good enough and if they provide you with a real account number. Marketlend registration form looks promising

I have a long existing HSBC UK premier account. I visited an HSBC London branch, filled out a form around 4pm one day back in 2012.
I was contacted by HSBC AU before midnight to say a HSBC AU premier account was opened (in Aus) and operational (for free).
HSBC internet banking has a "GlobalView" option which allows you to login to both (or more) countries at once, and transfer funds between them in real time.
Rate of Exchange from £ to $ is not as good as Revolut, but not bad, plus ZERO fees and the funds move instantly (in either direction), which is the main thing. I can then transfer the $ funds to ThinCats Aus, MarketLend, etc, immediately.
At the time (2012) I found HSBC GlobalView revolutionary, but with fintech moving rapidly perhaps there are more/better options now, such as TransferWise Borderless (I used Transferwise too, before Revolut, which I love, as I travel a bit, has saved me ££££).

This really is a professionally run P2P Platform that just gets better, why does the UK struggle generally to produce similar P2P excellence incorporating simple honesty & integrity? And I hope I haven't tempted fate with that statement! And this is not investment advice, do your own thorough Due Diligence.

(quite different to Thincats UK)
I am impressed with them too - comprehensive loan documentation, full names & details given, etc, like ML, really helps with DD.
Very clear, uncluttered, easy to use, based on the ReBuilding Society software. Good interest rates (I have 15%-18%). Amortizing loans (so risk reduces as loan progresses). Good loan security. Loans fill quickly.
Just no secondary market yet. Oh, and minimum $1,000 bid per loan. I've been with them 4 years (like ML), v happy. So far, no defaults.
(ditto, hope fate not tempted).

ozboy have you had a look at Thincats AU? (quite different to Thincats UK) Cough, splutter. I wouldn't touch anything with the Thincats name on it. I think I best stop there, and something tells me ozboy may share similar sentiments to myself. Yes. Unfortunately, no matter how "good" ThinCats Oz might be, the UK ThinCats has ensured I won't go there, under any circumstances.

Unfortunately, no matter how "good" ThinCats Oz might be, the UK ThinCats has ensured I won't go there, under any circumstances. Point taken. I was trying to stay polite in my original post but... I also have never lent a penny, & never will, via TC UK;
I expect for similar reasons to you both.
TC Au seems nothing like TC UK - otherwise I would avoid them completely too.
I found this in the footer/rubrick on their website: "ThinCats Australia Group Holdings Pty Ltd works with, and is partly owned by Business Loan Network Limited, the UK entity which operatesThinCats UK
Copyright © ThinCats Australia Group Holdings Pty Ltd 2014. All rights reserved"
So there is some sort of link, or at least there was in 2014 - but I have seen zero similarity!
I initially signed up to check things out, particularly the white label version of ReBS software.
I was super cautious and watched from the sidelines, but eventually dipped a small toe.
Little by little, I re-invested payments (loans are amortizing, so nice lump sums). There is a small but steady trickle of loans, they fill pretty quickly. There is thorough DD documentation to check up on lenders as well as their businesses, similar to ML, and usually decent security. TC Au even phoned me in the UK several times to check in/up, and see how I was getting on with the platform, a nice touch.
I'm still there, 5 years later, so far no late payments, no defaults - here is my latest dashboard (names redacted):
Well, I'm a fan! I'll keep you posted...
