Someone enlightenment me. To be an investment Trust don't you have to pay out 80% of income received. There is no dividend payment showing on it in Hargreaves Lansdowne? I know it is only 18 months old but I would have thought it would have announced a dividend by now?

Back in the day, every time Terry Smith came on the media, ISTM that he spoke eminent common sense, so when he started Fundsmith I was in at the beginning, much to my delight. For some reason FEET just didn't grab me and I avoided it, and seemingly, so far, it was a good decision, although not exactly an informed one. Now we have Smithson coming up, which I like the look & feel of and will probably go in for four figures. Any comment/s oh Learned & Experienced Ones out there? ( I have checked Lemon Fool and Motley Fool and the consensus on both boards seems to be to invest. ) moneyweek.com/investments/funds/investment-trusts/601142/smithson-investment-trust-buy-now-or-never?ampI set a limit order and struck lucky at 898p

Terry and his Team are TOO good, I get concerned it can't go on forever. Which is entirely rational of course.
But then, you see him interviewed or hear him speak or read something he's written, and dammit, he just makes so much sense that you're hooked all over again!

Up 74% come on I want a 100 percenter! Biggest investment is legal and general. Far to big. First purchase April 2018 all dividends reinvested down 10.5% but 6.8% dividends 2nd purchase march in money terms 75% of first investment up 44% AND dividend 10.5% Not sure if it (2nd purchase) is as a good a piece of luck as Smithson!

On October 22nd I decided to buy FEET, it has since gained 18.84% and India has millions of doses of the Oxford vaccine.

I am staying away from FEET. Doing well but I think most developing nations are basket cases. Obviously they will come good eventually. If you look at this page from AIC you will see what i mean. India is not on my list. Alas neither is China. I don't care how good an investment China is, the Chinease government just can't be trusted. On the otherhand Vietnam looks like the next China without as much goverment interference. Vietnam has massive trade with the US. US consider them an ally (at least against China). Currency manipulation is never punished as harshly against allies. Vietnam has said they will be buying LNG from US (although building the infrastructure would help!). I bottled out with my last £10,000 and only put £4,000 in but am expecting a fair wack of compo soon. If you look at the page VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity looks the best bet to me. I will go a bit more when I can. www.theaic.co.uk/aic/find-compare-investment-companies?sec=CSA&sortid=Name&desc=falsewww.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/v/vinacapital-vietnam-opportunity-usd0.01Look at news on hl link Dividends are coming out of capital. Spread is very reasonable. Labour pay is 40% lower than China and a highly educated workforce.

Looks like the fall in share prices of the big tech is going right down to small growth companies. Smithson went to 96% share price increase now down to 85%. Nearly made it to 100%. Sooo close!!
