Recently dipped my toe into the Welendus experience; or at least have tried to. Have had cash sat there in a queue for a week (range 7.5-15%) with nothing biting. Firstly, how have others found the cash drag here and secondly is there anywhere Welendus publish data on the queue/matching times? Couldn't see anything on the website.

A few people here have requested the website to display the queues, I don't know whether it is in the development pipeline but they're usually pretty good at implementing requests. Cash drag seems to mostly vary between a day and a week for me so far, though I guess it depends what time of the month you put the money in in relation to a typical payday when those stretched a bit thin will need a loan.

Since 2018-08-08, £412k lent to Welendus borrowers during the 57 days period, so average loans matched per day is £7.22k
I suppose if Welendus attracts a higher volume of borrowers against money available on the platform, this will improve the cash drag issue
My personal experience, money can be stuck in the queue for more than 10 days before lending out. But my last top up on 1st Oct was fully lent out yesterday.

benaj sayyestocress Thanks to you both. Will see how this plays out. Don't want to drop much below 7.5 given I can earn this comfortably on AC with reasonable security.

Hi jsmill , I think it would be worth calling Welendus to check that all is ok with your account. Having no bites in a week for such a large range seems incredibly unlucky to me. My account is almost fully invested most of the time, despite regularly receiving repayments. I've had 4 loan allocations over the last 7 days at rates between 11% and 14%.

There used to be some substantial cash drag, but since supply/demand stabilised few months ago all my returns and new investments got lent within the same day (sometimes next day). EDIT: my rates are set at 11.5-15% and PF at 7 days.

I seem to be able to reinvest quickly from completed loans with limited cash drag

Similar to jsmill, I am a recent investor and have experienced some cash drag. My initial investment was lent out quickly, but 2 subsequent smaller investments have taken around a week each to lend out (range 7%- 15%). Perhaps repayments from existing loans take priority in the queue?

Hi jsmill and liso, One of the priorities in the lending queue is the investment age. With this in mind, new investors may have longer queue and therefore cash drag to start with. But as soon as they make their first investment, they are in the front of the queue. by the time the investments are repaid, they are old enough to get the older investor priority which means very short (almost non-existent) cash drag like what other investors are mentioning here in the discussion. Hope this explains. Best, Nadeem

Thanks for the response nsiam. I had figured that would be the case. Would still be useful to have queue data accessible to investors though as you get on some other platforms. By way of update for those on the thread for my initial test order (medium 3 figures) first 20% of funds were lent this morning (8th). Rate 8.5% for both.

nsiam, It would be very interesting to have an indication of the proportion of loans which fall into each interest rate, or small range of rates. Could you give us some idea here in the forum, and also include the data on your statistics page? It would also be interesting to see how many live and new loans there are, maybe on a weekly or monthly basis. The cumulative total, which you show, is interesting but does not show what the current live situation is. Thanks.

How did you manage to insert the hyperlink to nsiam's ID? A useful feature, but i can't see how to do it. Thanks

Thanks Use the @ symbol before a username and you will tag them, if they have notifications on they will get one. You can also use the symbol in the middle of the post menu bar to add a user - this can be more reliable when the username is not the same as the display name - for example "@ star dust" will not tag me but "@ stardust" will (no spaces between the @ and username).
