Back in the goldrush days I got an iPad2 ?..just before Xmas and sold it Boxing Day at a KFC on the A5 near Towcester to a complete stranger for more than they cost at the time..forgotten present for his fiancée..he said. I may be wrong but I don't think you'll be trampled in the rush for this offer

Think the £200 JL vouchers are the best value.... Ipads are slightly cheaper nowadays.
Under the black-box model presumably you'd have no control over what loans are sold (if you were just putting the money in and out for the Ipad).

What's to stop someone from withdrawing funds from FC and adding them back to FC to qualify for the offer?

What's to stop someone from withdrawing funds from FC and adding them back to FC to qualify for the offer? I don't know how FC's blind 'investing' works these days and id be surprised if anyone had £30K sitting unused at the ready so I guess that would mean selling blindly too...the losses incurred in doing that might outweigh the cost of an iPad..ive just looked through the T & C's for the words 'new money' but cant as yet spot them..probably easier and cheaper to go and buy one from Argos

What's to stop someone from withdrawing funds from FC and adding them back to FC to qualify for the offer? Nothing from what I can tell (my mind does tend to go to its happy place when T&C is involved) probably involve a pause to give clear time. I would argue common sense might be another good reason, all kinds of bad things can happen to unattended large deposits on FC.

Looked at simply, the John Lewis deal is the equivalent of a 1% bonus on investing £20,000 for a minimum of two months if you leave investing until the deadline and withdraw at the end of the mandatory period.
Of course withdrawal may not be quick, depending on take-up, as loan parts are sold.

I do wonder how long does it take to match entire £30k these days on FC. One of my accounts still have 5% cash sitting around doing nothing.

For this offer it looks like the funds only need to be deposited with auto invest switched on. For the last ipad offer the funds had to be invested which was not so easy if you wanted to diversify across numerous loans.

This is basically a 1% cashback with the prospect of dead money at the start and not a quick exit at the end.
If I had £30k I'd go for AC's Christmas Crackers and Summer Holiday Cashback.
Get 1% from now until Dec 17 and an additional 1% if you leave it in until June 17.
Perhaps I should cash some premium bonds in?

Is it the equivalent of a 1% bonus but without income tax?
Yesterday, there was a bank of england warning about lending to indebted companies. Didn't specifically mention P2P but I think I'll reduce my lending to companies

This could be an expensive way to acquire an Ipad! I've been drawing down in FC for a year now as losses have risen & net earnings reduced.

Make a large fortune become a very small fortune by chucking lots more tax paid cash into FC's unseen black magic box investment plan?
For the price of a soon to be out of date iPad?
FC are clearly hoping that there is "one" born every minute of the day.
