Another HDR loan tranche repayment has been made today. It was from the 2nd law firm.
It was the 2nd tranche repayment for #5084. This tranche had a profit of 18.93%. The average profit for repaid cases in this loan is 16.2% (20.82% XIRR ).
Returns so far from all HDR loans (all 4 law firms, including the one in administration)
The overall XIRR for the repaid portions of my HDR case investments is now 3.83%. (This should steadily rise as repayments from the loans in good standing are received, barring any further "issues").
Assuming an equal amount was invested in each of the 16 HDR loans that have received at least 1 tranche repayment so far, the XIRR is 4.26%. For each £1k equal investment (£16k across the 16 loans), £8,167.61 of capital and £425.35 profit (£8,592.96 total) would have been paid so far.
Returns so far from all HDR loans in good standing(I.e. excluding those from the law firm in administration)
The overall XIRR for the repaid portions of my HDR case investments is now 21.66%.
Assuming an equal amount was invested in each of the 9 HDR loans that have received at least 1 tranche repayment so far, the XIRR is 21.46%. For each £1k equal investment (£9k across the 9 loans), £2,243.80 of capital and £425.35 profit (£2,669.15 total) would have been paid so far.

"No investments found that are suitable for sale"
Has the Secondary Market been quietly killed off ? I've got a recent HDR and Diesel claim with no payouts yet.
Anybody?

I'm currently able to add #5432 & #5434, but don't seem to be able to add any others. I only have access from my mobile phone at the moment, so perhaps that's an issue.

Not sure why those two are available – they involve different solicitors, both of whom are involved in other cases. Perhaps it's some sort of glitch. To be fair, the secondary market has never been very active. I did see some secondary offers available about a month back, but they were recent cases and going for a premium, so I didn't bother.

All of the performing HDR loans and the Diesel loans are now available to list on the SM.
Contract the platform if there are others that you want to sell and they may be able to accommodate. Presumably they need to check that there's no potential asymmetry of information between buyer and seller for the more complex commercial loans before allowing them to be listed.

2024 tax cert
Last year was nil so this is the first one with actual figures
I keep a rudimental cash account listing, money in and money out and the figures are more than my totals
Does anyone review it against their own records ?
Irrelevant this year as my profit is well below the CGT exemption

Yeah mine was higher than my own recording too. But like you, I'm not near the CGT limit so I'm not going to dig too deep – their own calculations looked very complicated!

Irrelevant this year as my profit is well below the CGT exemption I've done a couple of spot checks and found them to be correct. It's way too much work for me to bother doing an exhaustive check. I intend to submit the data provided and trust that it's right. One thing I noticed was that the dates used for the dates of disposal for the HDR loans are the SPV payment dates (NOT the dates that we were paid), so there are individual disposal dates for each individual case within a tranche. This can lead to some cases within a tranche repayment falling into different tax years. I suspect that this would be a cause of difference against any rudimentary checks on a tranche repayment basis.

How much of this are you going to put into your self assessment? Or will just attaching the details be sufficient? It looks like a bit of work to input the details of all the SPVs. I did that last year but there are a lot more this year.

I did that last year but there are a lot more this year. I just follow the instructions provided. Essentially, enter the details for the 2 partnerships, add the provided text to the additional information section, and attach the provided attachment. That's assuming that it's very similar to last year, I haven't tried to do it this year yet.

Another opportunity available on the platform today – Software Theft & Copyright Infringement It follows earlier funding for the case, which was before my time ( though not Ace's, who more than three years ago invited us to 'buckle up' for what has turned out to be a sluggish ride!)
