It seems to me he is either very brave or very stupid to deliberately set out to piss off hundreds of people who he owes money to, none of whom he knows anything about. By the law of averages there's got to be one or two people amongst the lenders who might decide to extract their pound of flesh in a more basic way. Neither more a bully and conman hiding behind his job. Obviously, but they're not mutually exclusive.

The "nice" lady in the Lendy London loans had threats made against her so much so that she called the police. Whilst I won't make threats, behaviour like this man does sometimes bring out the worst in people, & bullies do tend to listen when they get a bit of their own medicine.

Another factor created by the involvement of many UB lenders, and the publicity on this forum, is the potential damage to UB's business if they did back down due to escalating legal costs. If the P2P world knew UB could be made to cave in by the threat of litigation then (a) lenders would be deterred from the platform, and (b) other UB borrowers could try this on.
This strategy may have worked for the borrower in past cases, but his corporate victims likely avoided damaging publicity. This time round it may all backfire on him.

I read it that the litigation continues but run by UB on our behalf. And at his cost.

Excellent news and I hope I can't be blamed for previously withdrawing (setting autolend to zero and withdrawing the cream every month) due to being bitten twice now by other platforms.
However, I am so impressed at the stand they have taken that I will be reversing my decision and will be stuffing into the platform as much as it will allow without cash drag (which no doubt now will be a lot higher due to this).
Also plan to congratulate them directly via email.
