I'm in London Loan over at Lendy with a good few thousand so be watching this very close. Is Unbolted paying any court case fees if so are we protected with this one? I don't want to see this drag out.

How about we all go to the borrowers legal practice and glue ourselves to the door.

Don't understand how its possible the lender think they can get lenders names and addresses. That is wrong on so many levels.

I have only just heard about this in an email from Unbolted. This is horrible - shades of SavingStream over again. I had no idea , I dont normally go through the overdue loans list , why should I.

On the Lendy loan it was court ordered that lender contact details were given to the borrower, I think just name and email. Anyone not involved in the Lendy loan but in this one might want to read the Lendy threads to see how this might pan out. Or at least skim read and pick out the important bits. Best news is that one seems to have fizzled out.

Just another chancer who doesn't wanna pay his debts. I hope he enjoys paying UNB's legal fees when he loses.
The only bit that bothers me is the whole
"Unb didn't show up to the high court and have an injunction against them".
Doesn't sound like something they would do. Do we have a way of checking this, or flagging this up for UNB management to reply to?

I've just(very) briefly skimmed through the (current) standard loan agreement doc and it clearly states 1) the document is between UB (as lender's managing agent + security trustee) and borrower, and 2) the actual loan itself is between borrower and individual lenders pre-identified by unique reference.
[14.1.2. notwithstanding our role as agent of each Lender, you are entering into a separate Loan with each Lender identified by a unique Lender Reference Number as made available on the Website.]
I can't see any reason whatsoever for lender names and addresses to be required by the borrower in addition to that, since all management is agreed (by both borrowers and lenders i.e us via our t&c) to be run via the agent (UB) so would agree with UB's take on things unless a lawyer can advise otherwise.

Please be aware that there is a very strong possibility that this borrower has joined the Frank p2p forum and is trying to intimidate lenders. He may now also be lurking on this forum. Be careful what you post.

If he thinks anyone on either forum is intimidated by one del boy chancer that doesn't know how to pay his debts, he obviously doesn't know anything about the balls-to-the-wall world of p2p lending. He's welcome to my name and address. Any thing he sends will be laughed at and promptly placed in the recycling. (Climate change and all that!!!!)

Unless it's a legal claim form in which case I'm sure that you'll actually play a straight bat and respond with an acknowledgement of service and subsequently a defence all filed within the prescribed timescales. In the meantime I'd suggest the best way not to be bullied is to continue to lend on the UB platform.

Once the court rules he needs to put down a significant deposit to the court to cover UB’s legal costs when he loses that’ll be him on his way.

It’s always interesting when you google the borrowers and find out about them - the singular review on google makes for brief but interesting reading.....
