Not loving that I can understand culling comments for repaid loans, for loans that are partially recovered and with nothing more to be done. I see there's been a cull on "Due to an administrone error, the direct debit was not set up (by unspecified failing party)" -- I had a lot of those. There's been a cull on loans downgraded where the last status was months ago, of the "We are thinking about what to do next". Now, with no comments to prompt people, they are less likely to ask what's happening. Hmmm. There's been a cull on loan comments for loans where the loan has been late, but is now back on track. Not sure I like that, as I was keeping an eye on them! Can't see how to work out my outstanding principal on those loans where there's no comments entry any more. The comments in the individual loan pages don't show outstanding principal. So is there a quick way to see outstanding principal on an arbitrary loan? Can't see anything "export"y that shows this, or any pages. Recent Loan Comments There are no comments for loans you are currently exposed to.
Recent Loan Comments There was a problem fetching your loan comments. Please refresh the page.

This is just a technical issue surely. The comments were there about 4 hours ago and theyre still all listed on the repayments tab of the individual loans as far as i can tell.

Yep, looks like someone broke something again .. maybe they were trying to implement the suggested improvement where old loan comments would not get shown by default after X months? Or maybe they were just randomly fiddling.. 8>.

As per comments on main FC forum, it seems the new system has a fault that it will only show at most 50 loans with recent comments. It is unclear how those 50 are selected.

I think that 'show 50' was the intended action (and I assume it'll be the 50 loans with the most recent comments). The 'show none at all, just an error message' was it being broken by the attempt to change it.
The problem I (still) have is that it shows about a year's history on each of the 50 loans, rather than just the more recent (however defined) activity - the new layout also eats screen space (take a leaf from RS there?). I'd settle for something like the last 3 months comments on all the loans which qualify for showing (or maybe a dropdown, asking you how much you want to see).
You can still get ALL the comments (those which have not been snowpaqued) by looking at individual loans.
Happily I don't have 50 loans which qualify, so I can't check the 50-ness .. I do have >50 individual comments though.

You're ideally placed to check if only 50 of them display on the front page then?? 8>.

You can get to all the comments looking at individual loans, but there's no sensible way to dig through 500 odd loans looking at each one. At least they're all back for now. Hurrah!

Update - today FC have gone the other way, and are inventing more comments than I have loan exposure - actually they seem to be reporting each defaulted loan in multiple teensy sections ..
"Recent Loan Comments
There are comments for 136 loans you are currently exposed to. 0 are downgraded. "
Yesterday I think the numbers were 18 and 11 !!
Go on, tell me it's not just me!!

Not just you.
I had 74 comments, with 38 downgraded.
Today I have 250 comments, with 0 downgraded.
More importantly, the "exposure" figure for all my loans with comments has been wound down into pence with no payments having been made to explain it. Hopefully a "display error" again.
All of my downgraded loans have been removed from the list.
You are right, a load of chaff comments have been thrown in for loans, multiple "We are chasing the borrowers" that weren't there before, many many "We have received a monthly payment" entries, some dated one or two days apart. Loads of these comments have been back dated all the way into June, as far as I can see.
So the comments page is, temporarily, back to even LESS usable than when you get a "404 in a box".
Testing? Yes, it is.

The comments for my defaulted and late loans have gone. My good loans still have all their comments (First DD not set up, Admin error, etc). All their values in the comments appear to have been divided by 100 and rounded, like £40.00 is now 40p, £17.56 is now 18p, £14.28 is now 14p.
Their values and comments are still correct in the part lists so the code that extracts the data for the comments section is a bit broken.
