I don't feel it's appropriate to discuss on an open forum, suffice to say you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy. How can I find that out? First time I see people saying they want to forgive loan. I wonder what could have happened. Thank you

I don't think anyone is suggesting the loan should be 'forgiven', simply that a lot of forbearance ought to be afforded given the circumstances - and rightly so.

I suggested in a separate thread that I would personally look at 'forgiving' a share, but not suggesting this should be mandatory for all. I have no insider knowledge, just some rudimentary googling.

Jam tomorrow?
31/01/2022 - "Due to restrictions that are currently in place in Northern Ireland, a formal valuation has not yet been provided, it is anticipated that this will be obtained by the receivers in the immediate future. It is however understood that a sale of unencumbered lands is part way through completing, which will allow for settlement in full."

Has a cast iron security with an ultra low LTV.
Means nothing under present circumstances.
Unfortunately there was a human tragedy for the borrower of this loan, which was taken into account with the administrators leniency.

I saw one comment saying to look in DD but I can't find this.

Sounds like some forumites have taken a leaf from the Administrator's obfuscation book Assume you are not aware of the facts, with that comment. It is difficult to know if the borrower took advantage though, after a long reprieve, but it did appear to look that way in the end. Some have suggested early on, to release the borrower from the debt because of the tragedy; probably small lenders, but try telling that to the person who alone loaned £20k. The debt should be honoured though; it is only between 10% & 20% of the security.

I'm always sympathetic if anyone has genuine problems, as sounds to be the case here. Just hoping it works out well for everyone.
