Same 6 June received yesterday Probably safe to assume that everybody received identical (apart from name) copies. ..... A very safe assumption, every copy I have seen so far is the same. As to if this information is of use, in the big scheme of things, yes but limited. I have already lodged several complaints with the Complaints Commissioner (all deferred naturally so not published) and if necessary this complaint will be joining the others. What this does show is the disarray in the FCA, this is another example of what was highlighted by Dame Gloster in her report on LC&F. Yesterdays update was written a month ago and appears to be a draft, why else would the fields be left visible on a final copy?" As to why this happened I have no idea (no communication from the FCA) but I anticipate the FCA will cite Covid/sickness/working from home ..... which of course begs the question "How many people does it take to press the 'go' button? "

What we may perceive as disarray in the FCA can be part of a deliberate policy. There are many variants of "we can't do anything because.............". This can be part of a very cynical stonewalling strategy hoping that people will either become bored, disillusioned or die off. If I recall the Equitable Life debacle of some time ago it has been described in Hansard as "The Equitable Life case is unique because, of course, it was a conspiracy between Equitable Life, the regulator and the Government of the day"
Although Col is of a different scale it does prove that Equitable Life is not as unique as the House of Commons might think.
I should add that I had a friend affected by the Equitable Life scandal who died in dreadful circumstances and without any resolution to EL.
This stonewalling to cover the posteriors of those involved (until they retire or are sufficiently distanced from the event) affects people and is an utterly shameless act worse than the original mistakes.

I queried this and received a response from the FCA. As expected, they cite “ill health and work volumes” stopping the sending of a document that was drafted and ready to send at the end of June, apparently. If that’s true, we now at least now know where we sit on any “priority” list. 😡

If that’s true, we now at least now know where we sit on any “priority” list. 😡 Well the document was certainly ready in mid June as the changes that I highlighted earlier showed. I had a farcical Email exchange after I had submitted my complaint titled Collateral (UK) Ltd. - I received a reply saying that they had written to me in Feb and that the update wasn't due until 22 Aug.
- I replied saying they were wrong and copied the previous deferral notice onto my Email along with the new deferral notice that had by then been delivered.
- It appears that they didn't read or even look at my Email .... but they did send me the letter they referred to in their first response.
Just loving the attention to detail, my response said " Thank you for attaching your letter to me regarding Funding Secure however as my complaint and my previous Email show I was complaining about the late delivery of the deferment notice regarding Collateral (UK) Ltd. ...... " Needless to say I have received no further correspondence .......

I raised another complaint based on my complaint about late delivery of the 6 month update and have received an apology.
Of interest to other here the email contained.
My compaint(s) have been deferred along with all the other Col complaints.
