Anyone else had an email from bdo asking for bank details?
Just checking it's genuine.
Not the most secure way to ask for bank account details.

Hi I am in the same position, I to am thinking this could be a scam way to obtain bank details, I think a better way would have been we have your details are they correct, this way I have no way of knowing, but cannot think of any way to respond other than perhaps suppying an empty bank details

Your bank account number and sort code can only be used to pay money to you, not take it.

Direct Debits can be set up with Sort Code and Account Number. This happened to Jeremy Clarkson in 2008. Its better to supply an empty bank account with no overdraft and write a strongly worded email.

I also just got this email to my self , my wife and my ltd company account.
Seems strange to ask for anything - maybe just give them the last 4 digits of the bank account - you certainly cannot give another bank account that is not previously registered (unless you go through a complex proceedure) as that would be money laundering.
Its odd that this mail has come out of no where. To be honest its been so long now I cannot remember which of my current accounts my Collateral account was linked to...

I no longer have the bank account that I originally used for Collateral, so have only been able to give them my current one.
Given that the email says they don't have details of "up to date" details, I don't see how they can tell.

Everyone was asked to confirm bank details in the email that came attached to their holdings summary after the directions hearing (months ago). I'm guessing Collateral is now chasing those who didn't confirm or supply new details.IIRC correct that emailm contained a verified email address.
Perhaps this means there might actually be some money coming back 🤣

The way this is being done compared to Lendy seems very amateurish so far.... but fingers crossed we get something back - just hope they actually give us the details of it all for each loan etc as lendy are.

I have emailed them to see if they can email me the sort code and last 4 digits of my account number - pretty sure I have same account I used way back!
I'll see what response is if any!!

I have every confidence they will be happy to 'start the meter running' and ensure you get great service. Probably wont cost 'us' more than a few hundred quid.

I have just set up a bank account with £1 in it.
As far as I can see they can only pay money into it. Any other action requires pass codes that only I can recieve ( I HOPE )
Will let you know if anything interesting happens.
