Through the work that has been carried on over the past 18 months the FCA’s failings with respect to Collateral are now very clear. A few examples of the released FOIs are shown HERE. The small group that have been establishing the position have made many useful contacts in the press and Parliament but now is the time to ask for your help as fellow investors. As most following this saga will know, the FCA decide whether to make ex gratia payments in situations like this, but are exempt from legal action. In these circumstances it may help investors if MPs are made aware the FCA's failings over Collateral. MPs are able to take up the matter on behalf of constituents. This is why I am strongly suggesting that you write to your MP. Writing this letter is not an easy task so a template letter containing all the relevant details has been drafted to make it easy. I am not posting the letter openly for obvious reasons (and request that you do not post it or any part of it either) but if you drop me a PM I will send you a copy. The group have already contacted some MP’s who have expressed an interest in the issue. However, since MPs can only represent constituents, they have been unable to take up the problem. It is for this reason that I am suggesting you may want to let me know what constituency you live in, but this is obviously not compulsory. This is an opportunity for all Collateral investors to influence their final outcome from this debacle so I hope as many as possible will find the time to send this letter. I anticipate that the letter will raise a few questions, do not hesitate to ask by PM and I will answer as quickly as possible.

Before P2P, savers put a guinea in a piggy bank, now they smash the banks to become guinea pigs.

Although an MP can only represent a constituent, it might be prudent to copy the other MP's that are getting a letter regarding the Collateral Debacle.
Please PM me the template.

No it is the same one, we are holding on the new one due to current events. With Mr Bailey having now departed and C hristopher Woolard being appointed Interim Chief Executive of the FCA we need to let him get his feet under the table. If his appointment stretches on (as I suspect it will do now) he will need time to see the mess that he has inherited and to formulate a plan. If he is replaced (that is under the control of the Treasury) then we will need to tackle the next FCA head.

Just an update. My MP has now written back to me with a copy of the letter he received from the FCA, but basically the content is a more or less a duplicate of the response I already have from the FCA in response to my complaint.

That is to be expected so no need to be disappointed it's a response. What we are dong here is trying to keep Col from sinking to the bottom of the 'in tray' and any contact from an MP does just that. Don't ask me how I know but I do know that the FCA are monitoring any contact by MPs it is important to them or at least worth recording. The next 6 month review of complaints is due in June, and we should see where we stand then. I expect another 6 months will be given due to the ongoing investigation ... but of course I could be wrong.
