Getting married is okay. Don’t get divorced though! Opposite for the one that contributes the least as 50/50 split

Getting married is okay. Don’t get divorced though! Opposite for the one that contributes the least as 50/50 split 50/50 split only applies to high value divorces. For the vast majority, the split is based upon "need", so regularly the working partner will get very little of any assets while paying a proportion of income (eg 25% when 2 kids). I have known people ion long term relationships with intertwined finances and children informed that it is easier and better to deal with financial arrangements under a divorce than under the very uncertain provisions that apply without a marriage under the CSA.

50/50 applies in Scotland after child care. Not necessarily. The needs and resources of both parties are given consideration, which may or may not lead to a 50/50 split.

it's based on the kid's needs first and foremost More like the womens needs first and foremost The children's needs often align with the mother's needs, but not always and some father's do get shafted.

The party with the lowest income is favoured at least for more moderate income couples, not least because future increases are not generally factored in (Court decision that a non-working but highly qualified spouse was entitled to be supported on the basis that they didn't go back to work despite teenage and older kids). Of course on income dropping, the stronger party can get the settlement reassessed. However the supported party is not supposed to be provided with any "contingency or savings" which leaves to somem strange results if the earner is close to retirement or liable to significant income drops.

One can have children, but probably best to see if you can get them a contract from the ages of 5 to 18, making trainers in a third world country, so as to get a proper "life" education.... (though bear in mind that that may also be seen as politically incorrect)
