Many members' '@'names are different to those displayed. (In the case of chris it is the same though).

I vote for Rachel Riley please. Who the hell is Rachel Riley? Clearly not a fan of the flickering screen then. She is the vision of loveliness that, assisted by some bloke called Hewer, is the mainstay of 'Countdown' a Ch4 tv programme.

You can also catch her on the odd toothpaste advert looking a vision of loveliness in foxy blue dress and...............God I need help

How does a person get the name to appear in blue? brummiefred: In addition to what others have said, there's the 'official' way to do it... When you're composing a message there's a string of icons just below the Subject line. Fourth from the right of those is one with an @ sign and a schematic person. If you click on that and enter the first few characters of the display name of the person you are trying to alert to your message, a list will appear and you can select the appropriate person. Once you do that, the correct reference will be added to the text of your message and you don't have to worry about whether there's a difference between their display name and their 'internal' name. What happens next is that once you've submitted your message the system puts a 'notification' in that person's account, and a bubble appears above the word 'Profile' in the header of that person's P2PIF pages indicating how many new notifications they have. If you click on that number, you're taken to your Profile page where you can click on the Notifications tab and view the details. HTH

Thank you. And just to add total clarity, what mikes1531 said below, happens whether you add the link via the button or directly: What happens next is that once you've submitted your message the system puts a 'notification' in that person's account, and a bubble appears above the word 'Profile' in the header of that person's P2PIF pages indicating how many new notifications they have.
