Lately 3-4 minutes before the end of an auction I lose my internet connection. It happened not once or twice. The signal comes back right after the end of the auction. Thus I can't bid in the last and most crucial minutes. Has anyone experienced something similar? And how is that possible?

Are you sure it is your internet connection you are losing and not you losing a connection to the FC site due to overload or your browser locking up/hanging due to the FC site becoming overloaded? I have seen the latter two but not the former.

It isn't possible, but it is possible the browser locked up waiting for a response. Need to know which browser, what hardware. To confirm you still have a connection, try opening a cmd window (assuming you are in windows) and try a traceroute to www.amazon.co.uk, or a ping. Response times have been going out the window around auction ends, and these batches of released whole loans, spaced at 5 minute intervals, just result in continuous slowdown.

It is the connection that I keep losing. I work with 2 screens (to monitor two accounts) - a desktop and a laptop. I use Firefox and Google Chrome. The internet light on the router goes off and I can't open any website. I know that this sounds very strange.

Hmm, sounds like it may be a router issue then .. update your firmware? Try another router? Talk to your ISP (I pray it isn't BT) and see what they say??? It certainly isn't FC taking you down directly, but their tardy / erroneous responses may be causing an issue some-place en route.

Tried rebooting with no success. Then I spoke with the internet provider. The chap said he'll try to "optimize" my connection and miraculously it is now much faster. We'll see how it will fare at auctions' ends now.
