BT shares dropped another 10p today that us down a couple of grand mind you if one purchased them now then it would mean a good half year divi return next september. Perhpas I should withdraw from P2P and put my money in BT to prop up me pension . If I sold them now I'd not have to pay any CGT - every cloud has a silver lining ...
Interesting - written the very same day I bought some BT shares (@120.40p). The dividend does indeed look great, something like 12% at that price, although it is widely believed that it will be reduced in 2021 by about a third.
There are quite a few FTSE100 companies with dividend yields over 8% at the moment, and a few over 10%. I'm in.
Me too. I just bought some LLOY in my SIPP. They go ex a juicy 2.25p dividend mid-April so I thought what with the FTSE down another 9%+ as I write, they must be worth a punt.

Legal and general dividend 9.3%. steady increase in profits(about 7% on average) for last 5 years. Mind the Pru has a highish (4.4%) dividend with very good cover about 3.4. legal and general 1.8. Pru is considered a growth company

I tried to get a quote on RS Works ok for myself and Mrs Aju across all our accounts mind not all are that high Access middle 4 figures, 5Y high 4figures, 1Y also worked but that is only high 3 figures.. Manage to do the initial box tick (all products) and then managed to go on to fully listed quote, did not got to final "Confirm" stage though as still deciding what our next move is. There is a note to look at Current processing times for investment releases though.

That said I did test loans applications out with Zopa a few years back and the old attempts clog up my screens too which is more annoying than not being creditworthy for Z, For some reason we are not credit worthy enough for Zopa. Something to do with us not having had any credit for quite some years now!. My excuse was News just reported that Donald is banning all flights from Uk and Ireland starting on Tuesday. Apparently also he has now been tested for Covid-19 I wonder if he's passed it on to the rest of his team!.

Money Saving Expert can do whole market search and it will not effect on your credit rating.

thanks, it's not always easy to find somewhere that uses soft searches for finance checks - that said looking at our credit files - i check them every 3 months usually - it would seem that we have only had hard searches for some bank accounts we opened in last year. To be honest once we have picked up the relevant goodies from the new accounts and they offer little further in the way of benefits we usually use them to switch again to another bank. Sadly, I'm not sure there will be many sweeteners on offer with the current rates and economic climate we seem to diving headlong into, assuming we are all still around anyway. (We are locked away in our little cubby hole for hte last week or so and awaiting our potential letters to "advise" us to lock ourselves away for the next 12 weeks ... )

Looks like Access might reach 5% tonight or tomorrow if anyone has any money burning a hole in their pocket.

I was listening with interest to Radio 4 regarding the banks shenanigans when approached for bale out in the current crisis. Same old same old..... what is your security...? we would be pleased to offer at exceedingly high interest rates........!!!! So, P2P may be an alternative or at least a leveling influence?
