I wish I could get one started up here in the welsh valleys, it's a relatively poor area so you'd think the council etc would try to get one going. You can start one. Talk to the people running existing ones nearby - there's three in Cardiff, one in Llanelli, one in Llantwit, one in Penarth, one in Brecon - and they'll help you get it established. Bet there's a load of locals with useful repair skills. repaircafe.org/en/visit/

The result is that though say Leeds is formally one RC, there are a bunch of ghost RCs hiding under their banner. Not a lot of people know this.
Of course you could just open one under another name. "we fix things for free" is available.

So a franchise, basically. No great surprise - and hardly unreasonable for the owner to want a return on his IP and brand...

Man dad used to use a guy who fixed watches, ironically he was registered blind, but with his glasses etc he still couldn't see more than about 20 feet but close up he was brilliant.

Didn't want to start a new thread about the BBC even though my point isn't directly about climate change but have just read this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-51407233I'm no Trump fanboy but aren't the BBC shooting themselves in the foot writing stuff like this which it seems to me is a long way from being impartial?

Which part of it, which way? Isn't the main article just straight reportage of Trump's (predictable) response to the (inevitable) outcome of the (farcical) impeachment trial? Or do you mean the break-out analysis? That's clearly labelled as analysis - in other words, that reporter's opinion of the (risible) response.

Well I see that the current Coronavirus thing has caught everybodys' focus away from climate change. Although the virus has been great in reducing Co2 lately!
Anyhow I have attached a link below to express what I think is wrong with green energy in general. If you have the time to watch it hopefully it will make you think again about what you consider green.
I believe that lower comsumption of everything & lower/reduced population is the only way forward.
Again the Coronavirus is the best thing that has happened to mother earth in a long time. Is Corona a virus or perhaps it is us.?

Less consumption is exactly right. Do you have a youtube on what is wrong with fossil fuels to balance out the other one?
Like it pollutes the air, water, land and supports dictatorships.....I could go on.
