C&P from the Lendy Action Group crowd funding initiative;
Someone pledged £35 Even though this does not add up to my investment. I would like to explain that I lost every penny of not only my savings but also my pension after 20 years in the ambulance service. I have given all I can afford and hope that the bosses of wendy are happy and proud of themselves.
Sent by email by Lendy Action Group [LAG] to Lendy investors;
"Update on LENDY ACTION GROUP LEGAL FUND
I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I hate to bother you, but LAG needs your help. We're asking everyone to take a moment and post something about our fund raise on Facebook, LAG website, forums or anywhere you can. Your voice is important and we need every investor to pledge their fair share. Please share the link and a positive message saying you did your part and asking others to do theirs. Thanks for everything! Lisa"
I have personally donated a three figure sum, not as much as some three figure sums, BUT any three figure sum is IMHO, substantial.
The phrase, "We are MANY they are FEW", comes to mind and IMHO, together we have a chance of EVENTUALLY winning this.
LET US ALL BE GRATEFUL, that there are GOOD PEOPLE AT LAG fighting the GOOD FIGHT for all Lendy investors. PLEASE try and help out as MUCH as you can.

I've lobbed in my 1%. I'm fortunate that I did not invest everything and got a fair wedge out before it all went TU, but still down almost £15 k. Good luck!

Up at £33k which is good . But still only 662 contributors. A small proportion of the number of lenders. I seem to remember the guestimates of the numbers in the 2 london loans were around 4000. Guess the problem is LAG don't have the mailing list so hard to reach everybody, hence the request to spread the word on different forums. There is a reference in moneysavingexpert but the link is a good way down the topic now.

I pu this on to a different forum but then thought it should really be on here.
"I think lots of people who are aware of the fund raising (is this mostly LAG members?) have contributed the requested amount (I have put in £1.50 per £000 on my £40k) but it seems there are many many more investors who may not be aware or are unwilling to contribute. My view is that we only have one go at this so will be willing to put in a bit more. One issue for me, and possibly for others, is that I do not know what we get for £25k and what more for £75k. Perhaps it is not possible to disclose these details."

Wet Blanket Comment: I think the suddenjump from 25 to 75 kindof took the wind out of our sails. I just cant risk any more than the £1 per 1000 at the present rate of P2P attrition.

I for one am not in a strong finantual position. I'm left with zero income but still have expences, I'm very lucky my girlfriend is so understanding and suportive.

I think there was always a range of funding. But the way the crowdfunding site works you have to reach the minimum target or no money is taken from any of the donors so that was displayed initially. Personal circumstances are different, any amount will help. The bigger issue is the thousands of lenders who are unaware of the problem or the crowd funding exercise and haven't put anything into the pot.

I'm certain the FB page stuff always said that the target was 75k but they needed a minimum 25k first tranche to kick off. Its a touch unfortunate that the words on the pledge page didn't also reflect that, regardless of how the limit had to be shown as 25k to match the minimum.

Just a thought but perhaps reaching out to news papers and websites would be a good idea, they can raise the profile of the campaign and many will probably throw in a few quid to enhance their profile

3Quite possibly one of the journalists who have already covered this mess might be willing to harvest a few more column inches by mentioning the fund raise. Telegraph!? Times?

I am sure he can get the message out to areas lesser sites cannot reach

My creativity in raising this money knows no bounds. I have some money in another P2P outfit that has been pretty good on returning capital but a bit snail like on pursuing defaults and closing on the selling deals that would release interest. They are currently revising their model in a way that alarms me because it has elements that could (not would) lead it down the slippery slope that SS took. They are trying desperately to create a good image and assure everyone that if they go t*ts up, we'll have the same sort of security that we believed we had here. I just wonder if they might want to chuck a wedge into this fund to demonstrate their integrity, belief in P2P and encourage new customers.
