... I would have thought it would have spread it around a basket of projects. That's what it says at www.assetzcapital.co.uk/green-account/proposition/ - "(20% cap per loan is the minimum diversification the system will achieve for you)" So, if that one wind turbine project was all that was available, the system should have invested £400 of your £2000 into that project, and kept the remaining £1600 in reserve until any further green energy projects become available to acquire. [Edit: in fact, plenty of green energy projects seem to have units available. The system should thus have divided your money and my money equally between them] Undoubtedly chris and his team will now be working hard on this and other bugs related to the new code that clearly wasn't adequately tested before being put on the live site.

Interesting approach to market segmentation, provision fund and non provision fund within the same platform. It is unlikely that it is aimed at most of us on the forum but if it helps get more AC users and spread the fixed costs why not. Should make it easier for us to sell off wind farms etc if you needed to.

How the hell can such a basic thing not be correctly programmed from the start? I'd better switch off the computer or I'll have Andrew gunning for me.

I tried it with an initial test £10. Seems to be some bugs: - according to the GEIA statement, it invested the entire £10 into a single loan, rather than equally between N loans with a maximum of 20% in any one loan [the described behaviour] Purchase loan part 1798043 (old id 1797718) for 10.00 GBP - principal 10.00, annualised rate 9.750, loan: M******* Wind Turbine (112) - when I looked to the "M******* Wind Turbine (112)" page, it says "You currently have holdings of £60.00 in this loan of which £60.00 has been from manual investment.". Surely having acquired another £10 through an account other than MLIA, my total holdings should now be reported as £70.00? I've also put a £10 toe into the Green stuff and it has also bought me 1 unit of the same "M******* Wind Turbine (112)". Must be a heck of a good loan offer!!

I have just tried it out with £2000. It put the whole lot into a single wind turbine project. Not the behaviour I would have expected. I would have thought it would have spread it around a basket of projects. You position isn't static. As more people lend it will diversify with them over the coming days.

You position isn't static. As more people lend it will diversify with them over the coming days. You miss the point. The GEIA is never supposed to invest more than 20% in any one project, but for all 3 people who've reported on this thread so far it has put 100% into one project, despite there being plenty of wind turbine projects with available units on the market. The code is clearly broken.

It was looking at the whole portfolio not the investment account - fixed this morning but failed to deploy. Will manually force the diversification as soon as I can.

I couldn't easily get to www.assetzcapital.co.uk/green-account/ from my Dashboard. I can see the link to the Provision Fund and eventually work my way to the Green Account summary page but lenders might want to read all about it before the click on Start Investing.

I agree, will feed back to the content guys.

Will you be offering lenders the option of limiting their investments to either wind or solar?

With second £10 (and presumably a tweak from chris ?) I saw different odd behaviour: 17th Nov 2014 at 17:29 Purchase loan part 1801330 (old id 1800531) for 0.27 GBP - principal 0.27, annualised rate 9.500, loan: N*** L*** Wind Turbine (90) £-0.27 17th Nov 2014 at 17:29 Purchase loan part 1801252 (old id 1799349) for 0.33 GBP - principal 0.33, annualised rate 9.750, loan: S****** Wind Turbine (106) £-0.33 17th Nov 2014 at 17:29 Purchase loan part 1801181 (old id 1800830) for 0.42 GBP - principal 0.42, annualised rate 9.750, loan: F****** Wind Turbine Loan (127) £-0.42 17th Nov 2014 at 17:29 Purchase loan part 1801110 (old id 1800762) for 0.52 GBP - principal 0.52, annualised rate 9.750, loan: C****** Wind Turbine Loan (125) £-0.52 17th Nov 2014 at 17:29 Purchase loan part 1801039 (old id 1800695) for 0.65 GBP - principal 0.65, annualised rate 9.750, loan: A****** Wind Turbine (93) £-0.65 17th Nov 2014 at 17:28 Purchase loan part 1800968 (old id 1800079) for 0.82 GBP - principal 0.82, annualised rate 9.500, loan: N*** L*** Wind Turbine (90) £-0.82 17th Nov 2014 at 17:28 Purchase loan part 1800898 (old id 1763435) for 1.02 GBP - principal 1.02, annualised rate 9.750, loan: S****** Wind Turbine (106) £-1.02 17th Nov 2014 at 17:28 Purchase loan part 1800829 (old id 1800381) for 1.28 GBP - principal 1.28, annualised rate 9.750, loan: F****** Wind Turbine Loan (127) £-1.28 17th Nov 2014 at 17:27 Purchase loan part 1800761 (old id 1800306) for 1.60 GBP - principal 1.60, annualised rate 9.750, loan: C****** Wind Turbine Loan (125) £-1.60 17th Nov 2014 at 17:27 Purchase loan part 1800694 (old id 1800612) for 2.00 GBP - principal 2.00, annualised rate 9.750, loan: A****** Wind Turbine (93) £-2.00 17th Nov 2014 at 17:27 Inter account transfer from cash account £10.00 Looks like it was using 20% of GEIA "Awaiting Investment" as the limit on each transaction instead of 20% of GEIA total, or something like that? It did seem to correctly avoid buying more "M******* Wind Turbine (112)" though (which following the second £10 transfer now represents 50% of my GEIA)

Have you accrued any interest yet? (To just ten d.p. will do!) Make sure it's recorded. Loans in the Green Energy account do not show up in the loan book report so I cannot see accrued interest. In any case the documentation says that interest is credited monthly. It is only in the Green Energy statement I can see which loan units have been bought.

... In any case the documentation says that interest is credited monthly. Does that mean AC will store up the interest and then pay it all out on a given day, like ThinCats? Not very efficient, as far as re-investing goes. And an extra processing that causes delays and significant admin over-head at TC.

It did seem to correctly avoid buying more "M******* Wind Turbine (112)" though. It's trying to split your purchase across all available loans, not exceeding the maximum amount it should be investing in each. It's not clever enough to balance your investments to try and equally split based on current holdings and the amount available for sale, due to both the way the algorithm is structured and the computational complexity of doing so as the system scales. Instead once you're invested there's a separate algorithm that runs in the background that will start swapping loan units with other lenders to balance everyone's accounts. That's switched off for the next few days whilst the existing investments bed in and the loans draw down to the point where there's plenty of volume in the account but will come online soon and help ensure your portfolio is as balanced as can be.
