Hence decide an allocation, buy and hold, and turn off the news for 20 years. Easy to say, difficult to do. I'm a robot, easy My concession to being human is that I'm "waiting for the dip" to invest more fully. I know, not a good idea, and if I had just done what the research suggested I did and invest fully in 2015, then I'd be a richer robot now. So instead I'll pretend to myself that my allocation is exactly what I want it to be rather than admit I'm just market timing as well!

I think from what I have been reading we are in stage 2 - denial. changingminds.org/disciplines/change_management/kubler_ross/denial_stage.htmMarket take months to adjust, not just days. There is certainly a change of attitude in the market place which will take months to settle down. I will time the market for my wave 5, or is it B. I am sure I will get a bashing on here but I don't follow the crowd.

Yes.Sadly dumped Ratesetter. I've been very pleased with them, but feel that the writing is on the wall and that P2P has been a learning curve or maybe a banana.

With GBP denominated gold holdings up +12% this year (versus VWRL at -5% or so) I'd suggest that the markets are, in part at least, already in the Bargaining stage.

Shares in freefall again this morning. Thinking this will continue for a while.... Vaccine is a year away minimum and we haven't seen the worse yet. Virus will peak in a few weeks

I’m buying another 20k VWRL today. My land purchase fell through so its back to 100% equities for me (apart from my premium bond fun money stash so I don’t have nothing to add during a proper crash). Love the stock market Don’t love COVID19

I am always comparing current price to the anticipated higher price in 20 years (highly likely to be much higher). I have zero clue about the current price being over or undervalued. All I kniw is that the price is lower (which doesn’t mean better value). For sure, only buy just now if you are a long term investor. I take great comfort from the fact that nobody else I talk to thinks now is a good time to buy. May we all survive COVID and hopefully be able to take advantage of lower prices still to come!

You might want to wait until the end of the day though...the US looks like it's going to open down again which would impact VWRL further.

Some good bargains out there for people willing to hold for the long term! I'm sure anyone buying bp/royal dutch today at £2.90/12.50 will make a profit if they sold in 3 or 4 years time!

BP and Shell have been in free fall all of the last year. With investments in climate crisis peaking and both companies likely to end up in court for being the drug dealer of choice to the western world I would not touch them with a punt pole.

Just cashed in my premium bonds for my next lump.
Stay healthy out there people: stop smoking/drinking, eat healthy, exercise, sleep, love your family. That’s the best plan at the moment.
