huh, good point, might as well check this. Perhaps they'll be distracted by the end of days. edit: It's still there, unmolested, but as I don't want to pump money into it to find eventually they just return it all sans interest, have sent them a message. Will report back when I hear. Quick response. They politely me told me to naff off. r00lish67 - I have one and my wife has one (same address and bank account details) so that seems to work - I expect you have thought of that one already but just in case. I not advising you to do this of course, just letting you know what I have done Cheers P - I guess depends on what CBS do on rates in coming days!!!!!!!!

Regular saver 2 converts into an easy access saver after 12 months at a much lower rate of interest. The lower rate of interest is arriving sooner than that "From 6 May 2020, the variable interest rate on this account will decrease to 1.85% AER/gross p.a."
Yet another of the many inevitable rate reductions coming down the line in mainstream FSCS bank/building society accounts unfortunately.

I'm not sure if I can because my 1.85% is not matured until mid Oct, but I'm likely to go for it. I'm drip-feeding from 1.15%, so 1.55% will be 1.36%, which is a good deal atm. On a reg saver subject - has anyone recently managed to get 5% on M&S? Mine matured last month and I got 5% instead of 2.75% I signed up for.

They are different issues - I currently have a Regular Saver & Regular Saver (2), no reason why not a Regular Saver (3) too. T&C's indicate you can only have one regular saver but I guess they only check per issue? Can't help you with the M&S query.

I truly believed their T&C, as a result I've missed issue 2. Opened this issue 3 now, without any problems.

Not sure if I will renew when mine matures next month. 1.16% is available via nsi not sure if it's worth the hassle for an extra 0.39%. When I started mine I was getting 2.50% big drop in 12 months. Massive drop over the years my first regular saver was with first direct and i was getting 6% for £300per month. My first one was also with First Direct @8%, before it dropped down to 6%. Different ball game now 1.16% for instant access is a good offer (why do they call it "Bond"? A bit misleading). I've got 1.15% with Al Rayan atm so I'm ok, but will consider opening NS&I if Al Rayan drops the rate.

Just opened an account with m and s bank. Mainly for their regular saver of 2.75%. They offered me a cheque book as well which was exciting. Having seen a cheque for years! These (HSBC group) were always leading in regular saver market. Make sure you have the same account with First Direct and HSBC. I've just opened NatWest and RBS for the same reason. The lowest allowance I've ever seen, £50 a month (£100 if you use both, NatWest and RBS), but the rate is 3% - every little helps
