I didn't know Proplend had this portal. What makes you think it is related to this, the amount ? I reckon there are a lot of people and businesses with a lot more.
Still waiting on this VAT loan product, will we be offered these loans ? Are they ISA compliant ? I'm clueless.

The VAT loan is expected to be offered to Proplenders such as ourselves, the details still being worked on but scheduled for a final quarter launch.

Correct. I can't imagine many people with more then the maximum bid limits of 1000 GBP. I think Berkhamsted alone had 16k offering which seems too much of a coincidence of people to be offloading at once. Even if people had say two accounts then it is still 8 people/businesses offering at once. I know we all have the sheep mentality but...... I am a grasping at straws and trying to makes sense out of it. FYI, the other loans were Donny and Birm land.

I think there are plenty of people with money to invest over the minimum bid limits especially somewhere like Proplend, tranche A's in my opinion are probably the safest P2P investment out there. I agree that it is a natural instinct to panic a bit when you suddenly see large chunks of a single or multiple loans on the PLE but there could be a number of innocent reasons for that rather than insider information. You do get multiple accounts managed by one person and if I was doing that I would be replicating the same transaction across all accounts, my approach would be all in the same boat and we float or sink together !
I think it's a shame they don't show you the investment amounts in a loan, I used to like that with FS, although they probably rigged it like everything else !

PLE empty again, I reckon that was someone with an urgent cash liquidity problem or moving their money to the government green bonds !
Didn't participate in that frenzy, Proplend is my no1 platform but I've already too much in, will be shrinking a bit.
Until the P2P scales of wind down and administration start to level up it's not wise to be over-exposed no matter how good the platform is. On one side of the scales you have Fundingsecure + Lendy + Collateral etc and on the other side you have Growth Street + ?

Yes, looked like a liquidity issue, i picked up a couple of great deals. You are correct never invest more than you are comfortable with. Funding secure,. Lendy Growth St, collateral i think are very different to Proplend. I never invested in them myself as their business models had too many warning signs for me to ignore.

Not Growth Street, they were at the other end of the spectrum, all capital + interest repaid to every lender plus very generous bonuses even after the wind down started. The only UK example that I know of. I actually liked their business model, every investor shared any losses equally. Good luck to the founders in their new pursuits.

"all capital + interest repaid to every lender plus very generous bonuses even after the wind down started" - Very impressive and unique for sure.
