well that was a bit of an anticlimax then. Still, please let us know when the re-run is. It reminded me that I watched the first launch of the space shuttle live: I thought I watched it while at school, but the memory might be fading.

Saturday's launch would occur at 3:22 p.m. EDT (1922 GMT). If that doesn't work out, SpaceX could try again on Sunday (May 31) at 3 p.m. EDT (1900 GMT).

I hope the manned flight on Falcon/Dragon goes a little more smoothly than the latest test of Starship, the methane+oxygen fed successor to Falcon, serial no. 4 - you can guess how 1, 2 & 3 ended...

Interesting, the BBC had laura forczyk as one of the guests. I was at the National Space centre for a lecture by her, she let me fondle her Luner meteorite, not sure which of us was more excited apparently nobody normally asks if they can.

Not maths, not physics, but... I stumbled on this randomly and found it fascinating. Funny, touching, vulnerable, articulate. Also long at over an hour . EDIT: I wish Robin Williams had been able to be a part of it

Yes I saw this early morning and felt obliged to put it up on facebook.
I'm not a huge golfing fan, but as you say, bonkers.
As fate would have it, this morning also entailed attending funeral of a family member. He was a lifelong golf fanatic, and been at the same club for 50 years. When I saw this first thing, I thought it would be bringing a smile to his face this morning.

Ads? its the Beeb, do they do ads?
No ads here
Also bizarrely despite being the golf page followed by an NFL video ... also somewhat amusing

Ads? its the Beeb, do they do ads? ... well now. You are right its the beeb. However.....if it looks like you are outside of the UK for some reason, then things are a little different. Firstly you may get restricted/different content, and yes they allow ads on the website: or at least as far as I recall; I've been out of the country and using the beeb website for quite a while, for some strange reason....
Is our good friend using a Ukrainian based log in to the beeb, or a VPN which resolves to some such place ?
