From Coronavirus staging data one can find Cases data down to MSOA(*) level which is the smallest area I think I've seen. Page down to the 'Weekly cases by local area in England' and download the data (e.g. by CSV)

The latest deaths csv download from the CV dashboard (see here) includes this little nugget: Area name,Area code,Area type,Reporting date,Daily change in deaths,Cumulative deaths

I came across it courtesy of @jaan, after www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public#number-of-coronavirus-deaths-and-cases stopped posting updates on daily deaths on 17 July.

Unfortunately, they appear to have removed the cumulative case count by MSOA which was previously available here: Edit: the MSOA map has the following caveat: Suppression:
Numbers from 0 to 2 (inclusive) are suppressed.

The weekly number of cases by wards is shown on Column H. The (COVID-19) positive cases by Middle Super Output Area (MSOA) in England map may seems useless, but it helps anyone to find your "Middle Layer Super Output Area" using postcode for the weekly cases by area .csv

on the subject of granularity. Interesting article in latest edition of The Economist entitled "Govt. and Covid-19: How the levers came off" (general topic being centralisation versus localisation).
Contains comments such as "Local authorities are struggling to get data from NHS Track and trace". Leicester's mayor talking about "poor quality and delays" (at time of publish on 18th latest batch came on 4th). and "they only identify cases at a post code level, without addresses or workplaces". The final para of the article is somewhat telling. Burnham, Manchester: "its like a local detective being asked to solve a crime withouth the names and addresses of witnesses or suspects"...."Its about as useful as a chocolate teapot." says a DPH in southern England of the data.

Added deaths/cases for 21/07/2020: 110/445 7-day average cases still rising for 5th consecutive day, but average deaths still dropping slowly Considering 3 weeks ago, there were no pillar 2 results included in the UK cases, with all the latest easing, it's heading the right direction before Autumn. As of today, 109 cases from pillar 1 and 336 cases from pillar 2
