One of the best suggestions I've heard is to select a friend that you know well -- not from your school days -- and use their data to set the answers to the questions. As an alternative, you could just invent answers, but those might not be so easy to remember. Use words connected with your line of business if it is an older type of industry, manufacturing for example, and intersperse with numbers. I defy anyone to sus that out.

That looks more like a suggestion for a password. I was thinking of alternative ways of answering the 'memorable data' questions such as mother's maiden name, first school, father's name, special place, etc. There's no reason the above suggestion couldn't work for those as well, but if I did that I'd have trouble remembering which answer went with which question if there wasn't a direct connection.

You’re quite right, this method is probably better suited to passwords although I do use pseudonyms for some memorable data and I do occasionally have difficulty remembering what goes with what!

I use KeePass to store my passwords. It has a field for notes and I put the memorable data there to remind me.

Bumping an old thread.
Which platforms have implemented TOTP as an option at login?
