According to Chip, odds of winning is 1 in 1616 for every £10 entry. Say “saving” 30k for the entire month for 3000 entries will have a high chance like 84% winning £10 every month. A full whack of 85k guarantees 99% winning something. A 50k pot has 4.5% chance not winning anything. Is it better than PB? www.getchip.uk//savings-accounts/prize-savings-accountWhat they seem to be very clever in not saying is what the percentage prize fund is. The odds you have quoted was for May's draw. They don't make it clear if the number of entries doubled next month for example, the odds remain the same or would half. With PB they display the prize pot fund and explain how they apportion prizes from that.

I've finally binned NS&I today, too much bad luck getting consistently derisory winnings so I pulled the full £50K. There are FAR better homes for this wedge where it will actually be doing some "work" for me ............ Unfortunate timing? NS&I will increase its Premium Bond prize-fund rate to 4.65% from 4% for its September 2023 draw

So the interesting thing that some may not know is that when one flips the future PB returns to be paid back into ones bank as Mrs aju did last week because she had 6 different blocks of wins (see previous earlier detail of her wins) bring her a/c way over the max allowed and it seems to confuse the NS&I system a little after one flips the toggle to pay future wins to one's bank. Strangely the message she got once the switch was flipped was that she had one amount, in this case the highest one, but the other 5 blocks she won were not mentioned in the information provided. I spoke to very nice chap on their phone lines who explained that whilst only one item was detailed all would in effect be sent as 6 different items to Mrs Aju's receiving bank A/c. The guy explained that all would be returned within 7 working days and we just had to wait and see. Sure enough all 6 items came in today with the highest amount being the latest in the list and the lowest being the earliest although they are in effect all dated today (8th). The only record on the NS&I system is Mrs Aju's message that detailed only the highest amount. Of course we have a record of the items now in her receiving bank. NS&I does have a link in their system that details all the increased returns for Sept 2023 (PB's increased to 4.65%) nsandi-corporate.com/news-research/news/millions-nsi-customers-benefit-interest-rate-increases-across-variable-productsWe are now expecting to get lower returns over the next few months to compensate for the wins received this month (The biggest we have had since investing in PB's although Mrs aju has still done well over this year) Edit: Should have read the threads before posting the above link having just noticed agent69 message previously regarding a link on MSE.

increased returns for Sept 2023 (PB's increased to 4.65%) Their prize breakdown page is showing an increase in prize fund of £0.7M from 404.6 to 405.3 which represents about a 0.2% increase whereas the 4 to 4.65% jump should represent around a 14% increase. Presumably they haven't updated all the pages just yet.

So... because I'm having a think about these NSI Green Bonds, seeing as they've upped the return to 5.7% fixed for three years, I actually logged into my NSI account for the first time in ages just now.
It turns out I "only" have £45k in premium bonds. I thought I had £50. That makes my returns a smidgen better.
