Violet Elizabeth Bott. That's what it reminded me of. Anyway, sayonara, I just got all my money RYI'd. I shall leave the pending losses for others to pick up! (Another rude post, btw)
Prior to yesterday's withdrawal 38% of my RS portfolio was interest earned since 2012, since when I've not put another bean in. What do you predict my losses will be?

Overall, I'd say losses will be 15-25% of total portfolio, realised in next 18 months. I don't have the inclination to think about your precise position. Obviously big write offs are afoot. The government (i.e. you and me) can't bale out the economy for ever. Furlough alone is costing £14bn a month.

Overall, I'd say losses will be 15-25% of total portfolio, realised in next 18 months. That would equate to an overall gain of between 13-23% then. I expect to do better than that.

I completely agree, now you have your money you should maybe disappear, maybe a hobby which is solitary.

Up to you guys, its your forum. Personally I think having a jovial dig at someone for their puffed up self importance is not impolite. I am NOT accepting that! Give me a break.

Give me a break. maybe a good hobby would be creating your own forum and you can moderate it too - think of all the fun you could have being rude to yourself being polite is a pretty basic concept so it's up to you. in seriousness though, it is good you got your money back

To be honest, my perceived impoliteness is due to me pushing back on people who keep maintaining this attitude of 'how dare they cut the interest rates in half! i won't accept it' as I believe these people are living in cloud cuckoo land. we are about to go into a full-on depression, perhaps relatively short, but with insidious long-term effects, and once the various government support schemes are withdrawn and 'forbearance' comes to an end a lot of loans are going belly up. you only have to be a funding circle investor to understand how common fraud is amongst these loans. I'm sorry but if you think a 50% haircut to rates is the end of this then you are...let's see, how can I put this politely....I can't find the words.

Whilst I agree with much of that sentiment... let's see, how can I put this politely... It's full of puffed-up self-importance!
