The RateSetter website has changed (for me) this morning. When I log in, underneath "Investments waiting to be released", there is a large box saying "Are you sure you want to cancel?", with buttons "Yes" and "Cancel request". Underneath, it says "Edit request" with a box to enter an amount and buttons "Back" and "Confirm", and the warning "Changes you make cannot be undone." This feels like a "dark pattern" -- a user interface that is designed to trick users into clicking the wrong button, and cancel their withdrawal request without intending to. It's hard to work out which buttons can be pressed safely to get rid of these boxes, and whether they will pop up again on the next login.
I'm on a Mac using Safari. Are others seeing this?

Not in RS so can't see that. Could you possibly screenshot it and display here? From what you've described, it does indeed sound somewhat underhanded - don't like the sound of it at all ....

It does this for me too, but only in Safari so I suspect it's an issue with the way Safari executes the website coding - an expert may be able to confirm how/why. I've been using Chrome for now and that works fine.

I would agree it’s a Safari issue as I see it on my iPad with Safari but not with Chrome.

At the rate they are making small changes, I'm pretty sure that any testing is cursory. It's not really feasible to do full regression testing for every browser if you're in the game of rapid development, as RS clearly are.

Thanks for your replies -- it seems like this should be attributed to incompetence rather than malice, which is a relief to me. I would advise anyone else to avoid using Safari to access RS -- it would be easy to make an expensive mistake.

Just because people are working from home doesn't mean work shouldn't be checked, reviewed and tested. It may take longer but quality should remain, especially in finance, but lots of other areas too. If the quality isn't there, there has been incompetence somewhere. Processes need to be adapted to the new way of working.

Just logging in using Safari, Chrome, Mozilla and Explorer would be a start. I wonder is it going to get easier now that many browsers are moving to using chrome under the hood. At present when I get an odd issue on my chrome setup, where I use tools like stylus etc to make the screens look the way I want rather than complain direct ( I used to complain but they are understandably not interested in what I think), I find that when something seems odd screenwise I usually move to my backup browsers to check its not just my browser causing issues before I look into why its an issue. If I can fix it locally I can't be bothered to wait for any of the sites to change things. Thats me though, i'm probably part of the problem in that I have given up moaning about it to the providers. (I would say that its becoming increasingly difficult to thread ones way through a lot of hte code behind sites these days but just from experience there seems to be less initial thought going into page design at a very basic level. Just my view though as its probably machine generated code these days.)

It’s fine on my Samsung S9. iPad was a bit glitchy on some pages but seems to be better now. Really. There's no way to get the sign in button in landscape on my s10e due to the layout not being coded to responsive standards. Of course this phone has a relatively low resolution so it may be better on tablets or other chrome mobile devices but it's very shoddy work (having said that, I can't think of a front end designer who'd own up to working on that colour scheme).
