I assume it was released to show how much better Kier is doing than Corbyn (so far)? Some in the Labour still need to be persuaded a change was needed...

A neat little graphic even if it tells me very little (IMO)... Make of it what you will. I make of it that you don't win elections with leaders that have negative approval ratings. Which is obvious and well known unless you are Corbyn-supporting Labour Party Momentum members. Starmer was obviously a miles better choice (as would have been David Miliband back when Labour started its long march into the wilderness). The one that surprised me was John Smith - I remember him as being more popular and the "PM in waiting" until Blair took over that mantle.

IMO Starmer is electable but faces a formidable opponent in Johnson, who I expect to win the next election albeit with a reduced majority. Johnson's misfortunate in being dealt this crisis so early in his premiership could turn to his advantage by masking the impact of Brexit and providing him (and the country) time to recover before 2024. In that respect, one could say that Trump is unfortunate. The reason I said it tells me very little is simply because it tells us little about Starmer, it's far too early to say and what other opposition leaders in recent history have arrived during this kind of crisis... and following Corbyn is all to Starmer's gain too.
