Is there something in the T and Cs that says you cant copy and paste a first name? Wouldn't surprise me.

Well at least they admitted one bug.
I've looked at the confirmation screen - it. It just said. Title : Cancel Request Are you sure you want to cancel? Back yes I want to cancel
The yes button is very close to the X on a phone screen. You could easily fat finger it.
I've worked on trading systems my entire career and this has to be the worst confirmation screen I've seen to date.
No info what is being cancelled and no scaling for screen size with cancel and proceed so easy to fat finger.
This is assuming I did it in the first place and that this was in place on the supposed date. How do I know they didn't have a bug on that date? How do I know this bug would happen for every request and not intermittently?
In my formal complaint I want to see a full investigation where every avenue has been followed. Especially since they can't do the technically feasible and arguably moral action of simply reinstating it.

Even large banks and trading systems have procedures in place to undo mistakes or dispute them so long as they don't happen often.

Its more a politeness but also they monitor this site sometimes, i use that term loosely , its better for you though and it also shows them consideration if they see the message. It may well be a privacy issue. I usually ask if its ok to post here and they have never said anything negative just requested to mask out names. I'm not sure if its in the forum rules, Ton ⓉⓞⓃ would be able to clarify i think.,

just call them. it takes 2 clicks so if it is true then you can test it.

Sent a letter in asking whats going on but they have us all over a barrel. I know 100% I didn't cancel I am so careful in that way. I only log in on desktop PC and just view only. Some people on here defend everything Ratesetter do. They dig deep into T and Cs and defend. To me it's pretty straight forward now not in normal market conditions. 5 year investments and 1 year investments have to wait the full term unless a surplus of funds. Access given priority first in date order. So investors that recognised that the new access accounts were stinking turds need to be penalised so that the not so bright can be rewarded. If that isn't rewarding people for failure then what is? Sensible investors never put a penny in the new accounts and are not bound by the new accounts terms and conditions. It's bad enough that 1yr and 5yr investors are suffering an interest rate cut to help out the new accounts investors that are desperate to flee but they are not demanding Access investors give us all their money. Of course money brings out the worst in people, shown by the number of people that are happy to trample others that have nothing to do with their mistakes. Other investors wishing for borrowers to default and fall into misery so they can suck the PF dry just to get their couple of quid is truly sickening.

There are plenty of thread posts of this type of issue and it seems ratesetter sorted it all out. i am sure it can be resolved

There certainly seem to be more 'cancel' buttons scattered around, increasing the potential for mistakes. well we don't need to click them

Well I'm staying well clear of the mobile app if there's any possibility of accidentally cancelling my RYI; it due any day now (requested on 25/3/20) and I can catagorically state that I WILL NOT be cancelling. If it does get cancelled then it will not have been at my request. In fact I think I will only open this page www.ratesetter.com/investment-release-requests on my desktop browser untill I see that processing has moved onto the 26th; this page doesn't require you to login. Stay alert everyone!

They don't have an app so it won't be hard to steer clear of it....

You can simulate this quite easily on chrome by snapping to the right or left or manually narrowing the screen on a desktop. Chrome browser also has an "Inspect" tool that allows simulations of a large number of screen layouts too and can show how most code performs in relevant circumstances. I tend to use the windows screen snap mode when I am using Excel in the left in snapped mode too for my analysis of my lending etc.
