But Trump at least wants to trade with us, otherwise we may go to the back of the queue after Brexit, although I do not like Trump! And I have no idea where Biden stands on trade with the UK.

But Trump at least wants to trade with us.... Erm, I would have thought it was obvious Trump wants to trade with us .... ... as long as its on his terms. Frankly, given the choice between (a) no deal with the US or (b) bending over to pickup the soap for Trump, I would have thought no deal would be preferable ? I don't think we are going to be in a position to dictate terms with many (if any) countries on trade post Brexit, let alone the US (whoever the president is), but we will need to trade so probably plenty of picking up soap going on.

The trouble is you have to do any trade deal with the three branches of governement in the US. So you can do the deal with Trump or Biden but then you have to do it again with the two houses. We got caught with this when negotiating with the US over arrest warrants which was supposed to level the field 20 years ago and still Congress has not ratified the deal. So doing a deal with the Yanks requires a single party to control all three parts of the legislators. Given the present situation we will only get a 2 year window where this is possible.
Hence a deal with the US is impossible at the moment. Roll on Biden. It will be tough but hey we have the best negotiators in the business on our side..🙃
