I've given up chasing interest rates around the banks/Bs's. Even on £100k, 1% rate or 2% rate is only £1k different, hardly lifechanging. As many will have circa £10k, thats only £100 difference, can't bother to do the research for that! Yep it is a game and sometimes one does not get a great gains out of it, however, I'd be happy with an extra £1000 (actually its Mrs Aju as she has more tax relief options than me at present) I guess it's my innate need to ensure our stash lasts as long as possible before we start pushing up daisies for want of a better term ...

2.27% for 1 year fixed sounds like small banks are catching up with the reality. I wonder if 1 year fixed will reach 3%, would investors still use LP's Classic (p2p easy access vs FSCS fixed) at the same rate?

Does any one know whether Relendex's Secure Portfolio ISA (their managed non-FSCS scheme) achieves 4%? Because its target rate is 4%, but has it always been achieved for that product specifically or has it ever been missed (or whatever the target rate was previously)? Does anyone here use that product or are we all Self Select? Secured Portfolio Offer(by the way for this product an 'exceptional event' such as a drop or 'systemic fall' in the UK Housing Price index of 10% or more would be enough to jeopardise the rate guarantee)

But what I do know is that exceptional events do occur, roughly every 10-15 years or so, and it's 14 years since the last one. One of the few benefits of old age is that one has seen it all before.

Ford Money Easy Access now paying 1.29%. 1.29%? According to an email yesterday from Ford Money, their Flexible Saver account is now paying 1.30% Gross/AER. And in the "AER Sharia %" column for "Easy Access", we can add Al Rayan's Everyday Saver Issue 2 at 1.31%.

Call me picky, but that's what is important to me. Maybe I'm just unlucky.

Do you have an older account? Flexible Saver is the current offering, so if the 0.01% difference bothers you, open a new Flexible Saver... Of course, none of these easy-access accounts compares to the 2.02%AER I get on my old Clydesdale Direct current accounts (still available branded as "Virgin Money M Plus" but it's a maximum of £1k per account earning interest and since January they've stopped multiple applications).

Indeed, although unusually (and incorrectly?) the Ford Money web site quotes different AERs for its Flexible Saver:
1.29% Gross/AER Monthly
1.30% Gross/AER Annual
