Do Chase offer any kind of refer a friend thing. If so does someone want to refer me?
Tim
No, they don't need to do this. They are offering 1% cash back on debit card purchases for 12 months and 1.5% on instant access account - it's the most attractive offer on FSCS market atm.

Marcus have increased their instant access rate to 1% (incl 0.1% bonus). At least it's going the right way.

Thanks i hadn't spotted that one, yet, i usually get Mrs aju to renew her bonus every week or 2. I guess the game is on now. Must check with Mrs Aju to see if she got an email she usually chucks all banking emails in my direction so i'm guessing this was a recent uplift. Soon we will be better off moving NS&I funds across to Marcus too although Mrs Aju seems to fair better than me so far so i should almost certainly move NSI funds to Mrs Aju. Won't cost anything whilst we are waiting for the next round of Interest uplifts - fingers crossed !. Did a bit of digging and it would seem it was only announced today - well according to DM money pages that is. My instinct is that this is not the end - i certainly hope not considering where the inflation rate is.

Marcus caught up with Virgin and Al Rayan, but I no offers nearing 1.5% yet. I received the e-mail at 11.09am today, so I assume everyone with Marcus account has received the same.

Mrs Aju received hers at 18:15 this evening, bit odd that hers was so much later than yours but i guess either their system took more than 7 hours more or her cw*p BT email is just so much slower. I suspect it is BT but who knows! It will be interesting to see how the field settles my instinct is it's got further to go but then I remember when our BT shares were sitting @ more than £15 a share and I could not get through on the phone to sell them until the rates had come back down to <£10 but that was just one afternoon back on the last trading day of 1999!. I looked it up and found this link. www.fool.co.uk/2014/01/10/can-bt-group-plcs-share-price-return-to-1513p/I guess it's not that great a thing now and as long as the restored Divi get's better now its been returned then we are happy with the returns we have had since that day. (Apologies for the slight digression, I checked if I had managed to sell all our shares that day at that price then we would have been "seriously richer" but hey we would not be getting the div returns over the last 20+ years)

Trying to fund a Chase Savings acc by transferring from another bank.
When setting up the payee details can anyone tell me if I use Chase UK as the payee, or my own name then sorting code and account number provided on the app?
Cheers.

It is just another bank account nothing unusual about adding funds in this case.

Do you get messages suggesting that its unknown etc. I think that's what we have done in the past but some banks seemed to reject it if i remember correctly the last time we added an account.

Always use a personal name for the payee for a personal bank account, in this case your own name.

Sometimes yes. I tend to use one account (Lloyds) as a 'quarterback' to make all payments out, so money is moved there and then sent on. Lloyds seem to have a system where they do a pop up warning and if agreed to make the payment. It works so on the not broken theory I tend to just continue that way.

Ditto for lloyds, and the Halifax.

Works the same for me with all banks. A warning that the name doesn't match the account, just need to agree and the payment goes through.
