Buy your first-class stamps now and they'll be worth 11.8% more on January 1.
But that wouldn't compensate for the losses I've made from collecting stamps. In 1971 a first-class letter cost 3p to send, and I've still got a motley collection of issues from that era and later that I'm using on my mail today. I would need 29 x 3p stamps to send a letter first-class in January.
There are a number of YouTube "tutorials" that suggest there might be rarities and other finds in the average collection. Rubbish.
Vendors are getting 10% and less of catalogue value for good stamps on eBay. If in superb condition, some "Classic" issues - from the reigns of Queen Victoria and George V - hold their value, as does postal history (envelopes sent through the post).
I've been selling off piecemeal a collection of cycling stamps and the material that sold well were "Cinderellas" - unauthorised stamps/labels used on private delivery services. It's hardly worth my time listing regular issues on eBay.
As for "QIIE GB decimal FDCs" (British decimal stamps on first day covers) they'll barely worth the storage space, especially if the addresses are handwritten.
