Are administrators and receivers one of the the best, cushiest and overpaid jobs in the UK ? Why is that and why isn't there more of them aka competition and market forces. Is it government regulation keeping the industry keen and mean or self-regulation aka making their own rules up as they go.

Bear in mind that this is P2PFN so everything will be slightly wrong.
When they say they were paid £346,000 for 6 months what they actually mean is that's how much in fees they drew but that's the first fees they have drawn so relates to the previous 2 years. The actual fees for the 6 months were £215,000 (both coys) & the total for the 2 years £1.06m. No idea where they got £1.2m in the title from.
Like most professionals they are regulated by their own professional bodies.

Are we ever getting anything more back from these jokers? I ignored all the noise and just waited to see what happened, did get a couple of small payments into the account over the years which I withdrew but nothing for a long time now. Collateral is top but MoneyThing ranks as the 2nd biggest loss of capital for me currently in P2P land, all I see when I login is a long list of outstanding loans. What a ****ing awful website.

Update on site to give another feeble excuse for no updates proving they are treating lenders with utter contempt.

I've just looked at the rather thin "update" and I have concerns. Objectively, there is clearly a serious issue around updates; updates themselves should be relatively straightforward. It follows that I'm struggling to see what the issue might be and I don't want to speculate; I'd rather have facts.

yes just like Doctors, Nurses, and Solicitors Dare I suggest MPs? Hear hear. However, in theory, MPs are "regulated" by the need to get elected every 5 years but in practice you could be a thieving corrupt bastard (or their partner) and still get The People to vote for you in large enough numbers to keep your arse nice and warm in the HoC. So imho at least in the MPs case, the peeps get what they deserve. Unlike us poor lenders at MT, getting squeezed on all sides with no say at all.

Money Thing Updates 11th July 2023
There are a number of Loan updates when I just looked on web site, might still be a work in progress, no emails as yet notifying me.

Maybe we could play 'guess that loan' - The Administrators of the borrower have advised that based on current information distribution prospects are unlikely.
