It is usually the case.
Most cash/S&S providers don't even have a form or box to tick for IFISA anyway and I am leery of just using their Cash ISA transfer forms because even if it works I don't trust them to report it to HMRC accurately when they get the transfer history form through. I know iWeb recognises all my P2P ISAs as they are in the dropdown list on the form. iWeb also have a fully electronic transfer available for incoming from *some* providers (AJ Bell for one) but not from Zopa. Wet signatures are not strictly necessary since 2-3 years ago but the only outfit I have found who have been happy to accept a scanned signed form are... wait for it... Zopa!

I have just received notice from ZOPA my account has completed an IFISA transfer out which was only initiated a few days ago. I had expected nothing to happen until all my loans were dealt with, but I still have loans outstanding with a face value according to my ZOPA account balance.

My S&S ISA provider is like this. Only boxes for Cash or S&S transfers. Went ahead and ticked cash anyway. Got an acknowledgement from Zopa they have the transfer request. I don't see it as likely to be a problem - my S&S provider will get cash whenever Zopa pull their finger out and make the transfer. Probably be a cheque by snail mail knowing them...

Have now been waiting 11 days for Zopa to acknowledge my transfer out to new IFISA manager.
Assume it's due to everyone's loans sold out at the same time for all lenders & therefore mass transfers.

i feel they just aren't that bothered about old investors anymore? they used our money to get their business where they wanted to then binned us, I have emailed them and got nowhere, telephoning just gets you cut off after a long wait, shame on Zopa, we were professional, they should STILL be professional too. - PAH!

I've had confirmed from Fidelity that they are still waiting on Zopa sending my funds over. My earlier isa transfer to loanpad took 48hrs! Either a big que or they are in no hurry to give us our cash back.

Big queue. And ISA transfers are notoriously inefficient. They are probably using cheques and the post....

looking for some advice on taking out an ISA, just returned to the UK I have a reasonable amount invested in Loanpad and considering the pros and cons of taking out an ISA with them. I expect to be in the lower band for tax this year and would welcome any feedback.

Do you mean switching your Loanpad funds to a Loanpad IFISA account? That's sound like it should be one of the easiest and lowest cash drag transactions in P2P considering how quick it is to withdraw and invest funds (assumption as I've never done it). Same rate and the IFISA is flexible unlike other places.

looking for some advice on taking out an ISA, just returned to the UK I have a reasonable amount invested in Loanpad and considering the pros and cons of taking out an ISA with them. I expect to be in the lower band for tax this year and would welcome any feedback. There seems to be 2 different schools of thought when it comes to IFISAs, both equally valid in my view. One says, its best to put the lowest rate platforms in IFISAs because they are less likely to have losses, and you can't offset losses in IFISAs against gains elsewhere for tax purposes. The other says, it's best to wrap the highest rate platforms in IFISAs to save as much tax as possible. This is my preference. Perhaps I've just been lucky in not suffering losses that would have been worth offsetting. If you're in the first school, the Loanpad IFISA would be a good choice. If you put £20k in before April 5th, you would be able to transfer any amount of that out to multiple other platforms after April 6th as it would then be previous tax year's funds. (You can only put new funds into 1 IFISA in the current tax year). If you're in the second school then you might choose one of the higher rate/risk platforms (I notice from your signature that you invest across the whole risk spectrum). Shojin might be worth a look. They have one ISA eligible deal in funding now at 12% with a £5k minimum.

Using Loanpad is one option, I am not risk averse so would also look at higher risk options, I am amazed to see thaat you can get 12% from Shojin, but I have given up trying to sign up with them for the normal account, they told me that there is a problem with my application documents but have not told me what it is so I have invested elsewhere. Many thanks for the feed back, I obviously have a lot to learn.
