I know someone who has done this with online games
Played for months buying "boost" items, then when he got bored and gave up did a reclaim of all the money he's spent, his attitude is as he no longer has the game, he no longer has the items he's paid for so is entitled to reclaim.

Sounds like going to a dominatrix and claiming your money back because you didn't get to keep the handcuffs

You're going to have to explain how the article relates to the thread headline, I think...

Or they could have used public transport or cycled or walked. You always know council changes are not well received by the public when then try to justify it with drivel like this. How many vehicles does it take to collect and maintain meters, 1 or 2.

Tipping is not the same when its on the card. Ask any waiting person/thingy. I love cash , especially gold coins.

Barbers and Hairdressers I usually go want cash, but only accept booking "deposit" with card. The cash must be bit tip for the hairdressers.

The last people I used cash for were my barber and my Big Issue seller.
Since lockdown I've had no need for cash. I now cut my own hair (there's so little of it that it was hardly worth paying), and the Big Issue seller hasn't come back. I subscribe instead.
A couple of weeks ago my printer broke down. While I was waiting for it to be fixed under warranty I had to print a returns label for something else. Cue trip to use PC in library. "That will be 15p cash please." They couldn't break the £20 note I carry for emergencies, so I had to go home to find some.

The post office say with the need to budget more people are getting cash out so they can see how much they have left Saw this on the news. The theory is that people can see how much they are spending rather than using numerous cards.
Apparently this gives them greater control of their budgets.

I've migrated to Hermes (now renamed) as they offer printing labels in house. Last printer died and not replaced. PDFs on the phone seem to do.
Still carry £10x2 in mini wallet that now only takes 5 cards, unsightly bulge in jacket now gone too.

Seen adverts recently for CHASE bank, the selling point seems to be the numbers not on the card it's all in the app Durr great until you want to buy online and it asks for the card number or the APP goes down as adrianc will confirm not everywhere has great mobile signal yet this whole thing is built around it. But at least we are not the powerhouse that is the US of A some people are still paid by cheque and take it to the bank to cash it. 40 odd years ago when I started my first job they wanted bank details so I could be paid directly to the bank.

In my recent experience in the US, tradesmen and the like only wanted payment by cheque (check). My suggesting online payment was a complete curveball to them. I even dealt with a car dealer who wanted my personal cheque in preference to online payment...
